  1. He is good. Not nominated for Sainthood good, but, Friar Tuck good, i think.
  2. Non-zero chacne i fall asleepon the thread.... wake me up if it looks likei miss anything
  3. Looks like a fine day! Enjoy it, and maybe the Twins will show some signs of life!
  4. That sounds serious for Cave, and not just in a baseball sense. I hope he recovers completely, how ever it happens
  5. Gosh darn it all, we haven't been playing so good of late, but we got all this talent that did so well. But i hear tell there's just one more piece to the puzzle we're waitin' on.... I didn't quite catch the name, but it sounded a lot like "Gobot" or something....
  6. The "Waiting for Gobot" Game Thread covering the Twins vs As 3:05pm cdt 5/15/2021 ad (by Bectimus Sam) Setting: A suburban front lawn, a lone tree still waking up from the winter. In the background, neighbor is having a yard sale with the usual garage cruft: tattered clothes, old semi-functional tools, a dubious looking bike or two, fishing poles, tackle boxes, you know the like. Only thing eye catching is a bin of "vintage" 80's toys, dolls ("action" figures) and such. An ol' fart comes out and hangs a placard on the tree reading: 3:05pm Oakland 0. Cole Irvin ( L) P 1. Mark Canha (R ) LF 2. Seth Brown ( L) DH 3. Ramon Laureano (R ) CF 4. Matt Olson ( L) 1B 5. Matt Chapman (R ) 3B 6. Stephen Piscotty (R ) RF 7. Chad Pinder (R ) SS 8. Tony Kemp ( L) 2B 9. Aramis Garcia (R ) C Minnesota 0. Jose Berrios (R ) P 1. Kyle Garlick (R ) RF 2. Josh Donaldson (R ) 3B 3. Nelson Cruz (R ) DH 4. Mitch Garver (R ) C 5. Jorge Polanco ( S ) 2B 6. Rob Refsnyder (R ) LF 7. Miguel Sano (R ) 1B 8. Max Kepler ( L) CF 9. Andrelton Simmons (R ) SS an occasional passer-by looks more closely at it, and as the time approaches, a few more gather by the tree and start to chat, one with an ominous looking "boom" box, clearly set to WCCO... and this discussion ensues...
  7. I think batters are hogging it all. Rumer has it Sano claim a whole jug that he won't let anyone near.
  8. That's the way it goes... But every once in a while, it goes the other way too.
  9. Ohright. Home team. This is our chance to get bac kinto it.
  10. Got it. So a foul would be a > 90 launch angle. Or <-90... (Obviously not all fouls are such, but all such are fouls)
  11. Negative exit velocity would be foul, wouldn't?
  12. I wanna say i heard on the radio someone had recently done this at the collegiate softball level as well.
  13. Why not both? We have have 2 ears after all... At least that is the defaul setting, it would seem.
  14. Never say die! (I am listening to the game, but only get to post during breaks...)
  15. "The Odyssey 2*" Opening scene: Old man (played by Nelson Cruz) with an oar on his shoulder shuffling down the road. Twins fan catches his forelorn eye, waves and says, "is that a fan on your shoulder, or are you just happy to see me?" and an expressionof great relief crosses the oldman's face... Summary (i am too lazy and the game approaches) Odysseus (Cruz) is on the run from the law due to slaughtering all his wife's suitors, has to take care of hia family in hiding and still make good on his promice to expand poseidon's realm, whne he hears some of his band survived their travels butare caught by crazy dangers. Join us as Cruz teaches Sano how to check his swing, Kepler how to beat the shift, saves Astudillo from vultures, and brings Buxton back from the realm of Hades. Twins: 0. J.A. Happ ( L) P 1. Kyle Garlick (R ) RF 2. Josh Donaldson (R ) 3B 3. Nelson Cruz (R ) DH 4. Mitch Garver (R ) C 5. Jorge Polanco ( S ) 2B 6. Miguel Sano (R ) 1B 7. Max Kepler ( L) CF 8. A. Simmons (R ) SS 9. Luis Arraez ( L) LF White Sox: 0. Dallas Keuchel ( L) P 1. Tim Anderson (R ) SS 2. Nick Madrigal (R ) 2B 3. Yoan Moncada ( S ) 3B 4. Jose Abreu (R ) 1B 5. Y. Mercedes (R ) DH 6. Y. Grandal ( S ) C 7. Andrew Vaughn (R ) LF 8. Billy Hamilton ( S ) CF 9. Danny Mendick (R ) RF *- i only heard summaries of the Illiad, Odyssey, and the Aeniad. Not like i know what i am talking about.
  16. If the score once more, does Astudillo get to pitch?
  17. Tide and Astudillo wait for no hitters' counts... Explains so much.
