  1. I read the ESPN preview of this game and I think I was about 3/4 of the way down before I figured out who the Yankees were actually playing. Nice of them to mention us.
  2. Calling for a Plouffe bomb here.
  3. Beard oil...now we're talking. Maybe a little brylcream in the hair to go with it and the next thing you know the ball is hitting the mascot.
  4. Nicely done for those of us too lazy to actually look up the rules.
  5. At this point, I just want the innings to go fast so I can watch the Hannah and her horse commercials.
  6. Never really liked the full beard look for pitchers. Catchers it works for but pitchers I just always wonder what's living in there...seems like a great place to hide pine tar.
  7. Would have rather seen Hicks take an angle on that ball.
  8. Speaking of first baseline plays, did anyone see that play in Oakland when Rosario?? avoided a tag by running/diving to first only outside of the running lane? Thought he got away with one. Gibson really making it tough on himself.
  9. I disagree. Where's the bag? In fair territory. Where do you have to run to touch it? Just saying....
  10. Unfortunately for Joe West, he has built himself a reputation as a poor ump (consistently voted in the bottom 5) who seems to enjoy making cowboy calls rather than consulting with his peers.
  11. It does seem that Joe West loves to take the opportunity to insert himself into the middle of the game whenever there is a borderline call. I prefer umps to stay on the outskirts of the game. Bottom line is a guy just got rewarded for a terrible throw.
  12. Ugh! As much as I like Tulo, that's a Maueresk type of contract to take on for the next 5 years. Health is a concern. Gonna have to pass.
  13. The better team usually scores first? Really? Show me that stat.
  14. "Do you believe in Bigfoot? Because I do."....wonder what he'd have done if you had said yes? Anyway, here's to a second half of meaningful baseball for the Twins. It's been a long time coming. I'm interested to see what we do at the trade deadline and just as interested to see what Detroit, Chicago, and Cleveland do. Let's face it, the Royals are gonna be around for a while and I think we will too given our team age and farm system. I would love to see Chris Sale traded out of the division, but I think that is asking too much.
  15. LOL! The politically correct way of calling me old!
  16. Yeah, but look at the stats for wins for the team that scores first.
  17. Considering that a #2 hitter needs to be able to advance the leadoff hitter if he gets on by either bunting or hitting to right, that would indicate that Dozier isn't ideal for the #2 spot.
  18. If I remember right, Dozier's home runs dropped off last year in the 2nd half. Pretty tough to maintain this pace.
  19. Well, I'll be go to heck. Both throwing out 20 percent. Sign him up! We could use a little attitude on this team.
  20. For those who mentioned AJ Pierzinskicantthrowanyoneout...the last time I checked, he calls a good game but gets run on all day. I'll pass.
  21. I don't think you trade anyone who may have future value. Arcia may not fit for the team now, but he might next year. If we are trading him, next spring would be the time. Meyer may help us down the road as well, not trading him. Pelfrey, on the other hand....value pretty high relative to the last few years, free agent after this year, age 31. Depending on the return, it might make sense to trade him. However, he if we think he can help us get to the promised land, it might make more sense to keep him.
  22. ...and then there's always Joba Chamberlain.
