  1. Going back the last three years, they've also had: Willie Eyre JC Romero Luis Ayala Steve Tolleson was drafted by the Twins but never got called up to the bigs here. And they had Liam Hendricks for a couple minutes.
  2. I think Hicks wins the starting CF job again, but won't have the pressure of leading off this year. If not, Escobar is capable of backing up in CF. Can't remember if he ever ended up out there last year, but I know it was talked about by Gardy at one point.
  3. A couple other moments. 1993 - Kirby homers in his first at bat at home since re-signing with the team off Jack McDowell. 2003 - Down against the Angels and Percival. Morneau draws a two-out walk, pinch ran for by Dustan Mohr. Shannon Stewart somehow gets one fair down the line, Mohr crashes into Molina (he was out by a mile, but knocked the ball loose, breaking Benjie's arm in the process) and Stewart follows up to score and win the game. The radio call was awesome, to hear the disgust in Gladden when Mohr was sent with no chance, to jubilation by somehow winning in a matter of seconds.
  4. Got more out of the trade than I thought we would. Kubel's decision to come here on the minor league deal makes more sense now too. If he does anything in spring, he'll likely be the starting DH opening day.
  5. If Pinto is going to be the starter, I prefer Suzuki over Buck. If Pinto is going to be in AAA to start the year, I'd rather have Buck paired with Fryer. Plus I think Suzuki will be slightly cheaper, but I haven't seen any dollar figures tossed around.
  6. Definitely the home run off Freddy Garcia to break up the no-no, and eventually win 1-0. And the standing ovation at the Target Field exhibition opener for his at-bat. Pretty classy moment!
  7. Glad to see we are still in on Arroyo and possibly Garza. Will make the out of option guys fighting for the last spot in the rotation even bigger. Although I think Deduno gets it if healthy anyway. Arroyo as the number one was kind of scary, but Arroyo as a three or four for a good price would be a huge upgrade.
  8. Maddux Thomas Glavine Bonds Clemens Bagwell Biggio Morris Raines Piazza Really want to vote for Mattingly and Trammell knowing Bonds and Clemens are wasted votes in reality, but for this exercise I'll stick with my ten.
  9. I think John Buck will get a look. He's slightly better defensively than Arencibia and just as streaky with the bat. In small doses, I think he'd make a fine backup. Plus we could add a goalie style masked catcher to the roster! Wonder if that affects concussions at all?
