They basically kept Jeffers because they need a catcher, right? Otherwise I'm shocked he and Larnach are still here..... So, who is the new 1B? Sabato or Julien? Martin will clearly be up. And Outman, sigh, will be in MN. But no idea on the pitchers. Ober will be back. And I'm guessing Abel has to come up in a week or two.

Roden is another LHH OF, who was demoted to AAA. The other guy Fangraphs projects as a backend starter.....

I bet if we look at history, not one team has traded this many RPs in a two year period, let alone in 1 day. Unreal.

really? Full tear down has to happen in the off season now. They have 1-2 RPs now. that's it.

I don't think either is even an honorable mention for the Cubs on Fangraphs. I don't get these trades at all, other than money.....of course. These aren't even good lottery tickets.

So, who is coming up? Three RPs, Castro, Bader.......(and hopefully France DFA)..... Martin and OUTMAN is my guess. There are zero RPs in the minors I'm thrilled about....

I'd still rather have Ryan......but Anthony would have to be the minimum I take.

I think some managers are teachers, and some are not. I do think he plays a role, yes. Is it his job alone? No, not at all. but he creates the atmosphere, he sets the lineups, he works with these guys every day.

I agree, even if I don't like the specifics. This team missed the playoffs 4 of 5 years and was not exactly LOW in payroll......I'm not sure how this team reacts for a few weeks, though. They gotta be pissed (even if their play is the reason).

You said acquire? I guess you might have meant trade, but it's hard to imagine anyone trading young, controllable players. those are the guys most coveted. But it isn't impossible....
