    I didn't intend to set off on another Ryan tangent and not once ever have I called him stupid. If there was a deeper point I was trying to make, it was that the Twins front office seems just as desperate for something good to happen as Twins fans are. Thus both are citing small sample sizes with regard to Arcia and Grossman.

    Disagree. Antony said multiple teams contacted him about Arcia. (I think the word he used was "folks" so interpret that how you may.) We have no way of knowing if a team like Detroit offered a halfway decent minor leaguer for Arcia only to have the Twins give away Arcia to someone else simply to keep Arcia out of the division. A scenario like that doesn't seem like a stretch at all.

    We can overreact to what Arcia has done in three games with the Rays, but after Robbie Grossman's first three games with the Twins, Terry Ryan said something to the effect of "we have been rewarded by him. These are the types of moves I need to be doing."

    The game Mauer was catching and lunged to tag out Gardner trying to sneak home with the winning run in the 9th on an infield hit. Still gives me chills!

    I never doubted Perkins somehow knew he wasn't 100%, but the timing of his injury announcements always seemed to coincide with blown saves. But god, to read about the extent of the injury, and that it took a third opinion for someone to finally believe him. Sorry, Glen.     But a third pitch can be something you throw just a few times a game, and maybe not even for a strike every time, and maybe the Twins are overemphasizing it's importance? - which is not to say it's not important. But maybe it doesn't need to be "perfected"

All those longetivity records will be hard to reach. From your list probably the season RBI record has the best chance of falling.

    why is it very telling? What was Tampa Bay's waiver priority. Pretty low but I'm not sure exactly where. I would think if any team had more than a passing interest in Arcia they would just wait to claim him, if available. I also think you give the Twins too much credit for receiving fair value back in the trades they do make. (or have made since Ryan returned)
