    I would guess the players are protesting because they had every reason to believe this issue was settled when the "I'm glad this is over" comment was made, and now they feel betrayed by the coach/AD/president or some combination thereof.

    First of all thanks for your insight with this. I'd guess the Twins have no interest in Puig for other reasons. Forgetting the outs every game or inning. The long, majestic, high-arcing 400-foot base hits. Bat flips after drawing a walk. Those are the things that make Puig a non-starter here. The "Minnesota Nice" is in the Twins DNA to some extent. And if people don't know about the 2nd base sac bunt snafu, they owe it to themselves to look it up. Imagine if Rosario or Sano had done something like that.

    Most definitely. Like I said before, it's a little (more than a little) embarrassing to have your intel leaked by random guy on internet. Lots of trades go down in January. It's a win-win and the teams seem willing to do this.75/25 that something still happens. If it doesn't I still believe you had something.

    I like all the KFAN hosts. They come at it from different angles. Charch is a businessman but doesn't know the actual sports very well, and him being so opinionated with that screechy voice it's good for him to stick with what he knows. Heck his fantasy show is on right now.

    Seems similar to the Gardy situation last year. No reason to believe Gardy's deal to manage Detroit wasn't 99% completed, but having an unknown blogger break the news too soon (even though other reputable outlets later confirmed the deal) was probably a little embarrassing. Might have led to Avila nixing the offer.

    LaVelle mostly editorializes at this point. In that sense, he's ok. He doesn't report much anymore. He has been with the Strib more than a decade and generates page views for them.
