  1. I was ready to forgive LogMo all his failure to that point, but guess not
  2. You are right, he did come in with the lead. I had something else going on and wasn't watching that night (oh good for me)
  3. Only trying to see it from Duffey's point of view. Even if Duffey is pitching worse than Hughes, it's arguable whether Duffey is actually hurting the team (by pitching in mop up).
  4. Based off Hughes being entitled to a roster spot? it's worth a guess
  5. People can laugh, but I'm wondering if some combination of Lynn, Morrison and Rodney has actually thrown off the chemistry. Those guys to varying degrees are not known as the Gimenez and Belisle "awesome dude" types and none of them are getting the job done on the field.
  6. Castro with two meaningless hits today. That'll show me!
  7. Morrison all smiles out at second, after lining a double. Good work, LoMo!
  8. The worse this team plays, the less I hear from Falvey or Levine
  9. I blame Sano again. I'm sure he did something unapproving today
  10. Hey! Wake up! Dinner time! http://i.giphy.com/TtYHzz330lASA.gif
  11. Maybe best to head back under the blanket, just in case
  12. Is it safe to watch the Twins again yet? http://www.dogster.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Scared-dog-hiding-under-blanket.jpg
  13. It has been common wisdom the last couple years (yes that's how long we've been having this Hughes discussion) that if the Twins let him go, some team would pick him up and pay the minimum salary and the Twins would be on the hook for the rest. Can we be sure anymore that a team would even pick him up for league minimum? If not, the Twins would be on the hook for his whole salary, not just whole salary minus minimum. So, might as well keep him? What is the thought process here?
  14. ironically, when he has two strikes Mauer does swing at a lot of bad pitches
  15. Bailey Ober is a right handed starting pitcher in the Twins organization. He comes out of the College of Charleston and was selected by the Twins in the 12th round of the 2017 draft. More background from a January "get to know" article here. Ober began 2018 with a minor injury and spent some time rehabbing before being assigned to Class A Cedar Rapids to make his 2018 debut.
  16. LaRussa did try this (Stl?) not forever ago, and maybe another team. In LaRussa's case it didn't last long (not sure why it stopped, maybe it didn't work or the pitchers rebelled). Question: What happens if your first guy goes 9 up, 9 down?
  17. This is exactly right.
  18. true, it would have been unrealistic for Gibby to go the distance today, especially if he was at 95 pitches 95 is the new 100, apparently
  19. Sometimes a manager needs to know when something is working and when to NOT touch anything. Today was that day. I was following on the web and hated seeing Gibson come out and then all those substitutions at the end.
  20. Garver is still subpar defensively but must have called a good game today. That's really what matters. Castro is brutal. Let's start being honest around here. Edit- yes that's an opinion
