  1. Last time I'm responding to you. I asked if every hit that didn't result in a run scored was meaningless, to which you said "30 RBI" in response.
  2. Swarzak nooooooo. I thought the Twins were trying to win this game
  3. Did Gibson have such control problems in the minors, typically, or is this an off day for him?
  4. So you (a) didn't answer my question, and ( changed the subject of your "argument"/complaint?
  5. Mauer with another meaningless 1+ base hit there! (I'm going with the "subtract one and add a +" way of counting numbers.)
  6. "Meaningless singles" is an entirely subjective opinion. Is a hit only meaningful if it scores a run? That's a pretty high bar to set. Also, he didn't single there, he walked.
  7. You can swing and still get an HBP now?
  8. TIL: Narratives are usually wrong, but people follow them anyway
  9. Why are we comparing Hicks, Revere, and Span? One is a rookie who never played in AAA, and the others have been in the majors for multiple years.
  10. Tanking in the NFL or NBA, where a top draft pick can immediately make an impact and is more likely to succeed at least has some semblance of sense to it. Tanking in the MLB in the hopes that you get a guy that might contribute 3 years from now, but it's much more likely that he's never that good? Not a smart idea.
  11. Good managers like that get fired every year, but good managers like that also have multiple HoFers and upwards of 5 current or former all stars. The Twins have Mauer and a shell of Morneau and a bunch of young guys. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison. Now if Gardy were losing with Hamilton, Trout, Pujols, Trumbo, and Weaver on his team, or Lee, Utley, Halladay, Rollins, and Revere, that'd be one thing. But he's not. I personally am confident that Gardy will be around next year, and for many more years, based on nothing other than my opinion.
  12. Too sensible. Please moderate.
  13. Arcia and Hicks: Still rookies.
  14. Arcia: Still obviously a rookie.
  15. Morneau. Is the power back for good?
  16. Time for Anthony "This game is basically over anyway" Swarzak.
  17. Huh. So they do have make-up calls in MLB. Clete was safer than Parm
  18. When you're giving up home runs to Rajai Davis and Jose Reyes, it's time to head to the minors and get yourself back on track.
  19. Scott pitches better from behind. Everyone knows this.
  20. Whoa, a home run from the LEFT side? Slow down now Hicksie EDIT: I guess he has more from the left than from the right... Whoa, a HIT from the LEFT side? Slow down now Hicksie
  21. Oh weird, Parmelee struck out again...on a fastball.
  22. Glad Diamond could help them feel better about their lives.
  23. Of course, Jays fans must be even more annoyed that they're hammering this apparently scrub pitcher and have nothing to show for it.
