  1. Re: Ortiz in this series. I have no problem with the Twins continued insistence against putting him on base. Every time he's hit a HR, the bases have been empty. Unless there are already 2 outs and the guy after him is complete garbage, don't give up the IBB.
  2. Nah, I'd have been saying C/KAOFNIG Cobes/Kubes are okay for now, I guess.
  3. ABC/K Anybody but Cobes/Kubes
  4. These stats are the opposite of what I would except re: sac bunts. That makes me pretty happy. How about attempted steals?
  5. Question I need answered in this game thread: How much are we to blame Anderson for Morenau's success upon leaving the Twins?
  6. I also think he needs to give up on switch hitting, but I have no expertise to back that opinion up.
  7. Agree totally with what you said. When it comes to stats in the minors, I'll take an 800 OPS driven largely by walks over an OPS driven largely by a .300/.330/.470.
  8. It is absurd that you think not having an OBP over .400 is proof of any sort of failing as a hitter. And again, how many good MLBers have come up and struggled to start their careers? Every day around here I read calls for "bring up the young guy, who cares about the old guy" but for some reason this doesn't apply to letting Hicks struggle...
  9. Just my opinion, what with not being a MLB hitter, but altering your approach seems like it would take a long, long time.
  10. Hicks has not been good in the majors thus far in his career. But this seems like an awfully bold statement to make considering he's only had 400+ PAs. I know he can't hit ML pitching yet, but why are people so quick to give up on a guy who's part of a team that is BAD? What benefit is there to the Twins in picking up waiver wire garbage with no higher ceiling? I say let Hicks keep struggling and hope he figures it out over the next year, much like hundreds of MLers before him.
  11. Parms walk off? I'll allow it
  12. This thread is absurd. The lengths people will go to to criticize someone they already don't like...
  13. 5th reliever in the last two innings...Twins better hope this doesn't go extras.
  14. How many of the Twins' 17 pitchers have a swing-and-miss pitch?
  15. It takes a real bullpen to go through 4 guys in an inning.
  16. Gardy's fault Duensing couldn't get the job done?
  17. Another stellar Twins bullpen outing.
  18. Guerrier is like my 4th favorite kind of cheese
  19. That was just a terrible effort by Duensingysies during that AB
  20. Silly Twins, that's only a strike when Kubel is up!
  21. I'm predicting a double play here
  22. Well was kinda hoping I wasn't jinxing things.
  23. This game is setting up just how Gardy wants it. Lesser reliever in the 8th to face the best Red Sox hitters, Perk in the 9th for cleanup/save/make the ASG duty.
  24. Well of COURSE he did it early in the game, when it doesn't matter as much (or something).
  25. Well it's certainly not NOT Anderson'sies fault
