When I am not watching the Twins dominate on the Field of War - or, if a field of war isn't available, a standard baseball field will do - I am a voracious reader. I have read a few different books about the sport over the years, and just finished reading the recently published book The Magic Game: The Spirit and History of Baseball's Superstitions, Rituals, and Curses by Addy Baird, which I very much enjoyed! My favorite was Big Hair and Plastic Grass: A Funky Ride Through Baseball and America in the Swinging '70s by Dan Epstein.
If you have any books that you've read about the sport that has brought us all together, please share them! I'm always looking for other recommendations! And if you've read either of the ones I mentioned, what were your thoughts on those books?
