  1. Yeah I sure am glad he wasn’t DFA’d in the middle of the 2nd inning tonight.
  2. Awesome K! I hold my breath every time Witt bats against us…..
  3. Banda and Gomez. I liked the move to get Banda, I think he’s actually one of the better arms in the BP. After a brutal stretch in April he’s settled in. Last night was cruising but seemed to lose it after that infield “hit” where the off target throw actually would have beat the runner. Gomez - l’m not sure what to make of him; he’s been more effective than I would have guessed. Must have some deception in his delivery or release point because last night he was getting away with pitches that looked pretty hittable. But I’ll take it
  4. A shame on that infield “hit”. The throw beat the runner. It was a good scoop but the throw obviously wasn’t. Banda lost it after that.
  5. No one is (credibly) advocating to give up on Lewis. But “mashing” for a week at AAA doesn’t change the fact he’s largely been lost at the plate for most of the past 2 seasons. Plus I would expect a player with over 1,000 at bats in the majors to be able to take advantage of inferior minor league pitching. He needs to settle into that reality of being in the minors, and let’s see where his head is at in a month or so, or longer. I don’t know really how resistant he is to a position change, or if that even matters. He’d have to sustain success at AAA for quite a while to force his way back into the Twins lineup. And if the whole process ends up simply increasing his trade value, so be it. I don’t wish any ill will on Lewis, but I don’t want the Twins to be further held hostage by his situation.
  6. Am I pannicked? Not really. More like fatigued. I know that following Twins prospects development isn't ever a "straight line", but I'm getting queasy from the roller coaster.
  7. Like others I’m moderately surprised that the Twins are (mathematically) relevant at Memorial Day. So far, I’m enjoying this season more than I would have thought. My perception is that Shelton mostly pulls the right levers (given what the FO gives him to work with) and the team may have a tendency to more aggressive on the base paths. Overall more entertaining than I would have guessed. FWIW I expect things to normalize and other Central teams to pick it up. Count me in the minority I guess of people not wanting to see Ryan get traded.
  8. Astros Fan: My Bullpen Sucks! Twins Fan: Hold my beer!
  9. Can we be done with Topa now? His WHIP is hovering around 2.00.
  10. Yeah that was strange. Bell doesn’t change directions easily 😆
  11. Morny adding nothing. I’d rather listen to on-field interviews.
  12. Enough of Morny. He occasionally adds something useful, but talks incessantly.
  13. Me too. It would be awesome if he eventually became a reliable, inexpensive, late innings guy. Like Varland maybe.
  14. Regardless of the outcome of this game, I cannot fathom why the Twins sign retreads like Garcia. Zero upside. There’s got to be guys in the system who might have a future with the team.
  15. Call me old (because I am) but as a fan, actually watching the game, I do not want to have to be studying obscure metrics to feel like I need them to appreciate or be entertained by what I’m seeing. RBI is (yes a flawed) measure of a player doing the basic thing needed for a team to score runs. I derive pleasure and entertainment from a baseball team executing basics to accumulate runs to hopefully win a game. With my eyes, over the course of many, many seasons, I watched players that can consistently get it done, and others who can’t. So, yeah, RBI matters a lot to me. YMMV
