  1. Considering the whole car is a rolling memeep seems kind of odd to put a real horn in it.
  2. I caught it shortly after I hit "post" and emailed Chief. Anyway, thanks for whoever whomever? fixed things. If only our favorite 9 could be fixed as easily.
  3. I'm very busy at work these days and probably will not have time to post lineups. Catch you all on the flip side!
  4. I look back at this baseball season and the way things have gone and a sort of melancholy set in: *Let's hear it for one hit wonders! But, never fear, another day of baseball is upon us! Kansas City is in town and I'm sure the Twins will right the ship against the lowly Royals! *It never ceases to amaze me what a search of youtube will turn up. Hard to believe there were cameras all over this, "course" recording the event. *Not sure I get the point of this video, but, then again, I'm not sure there's a point to this post. Random thoughts: *Yes, I recycled the image. Seemed appropriate. Some observations about yesterday's game: 1.2.3.4.5. *That was easy. No game, no observations! Play ball! Pitching for the Twins: Jake Odorizzi Pitching for the Royals: Heath Fillmyer.
  5. I would have thought it was sarcasm, but for Molitor, a few weeks ago, seeming to agree an opposing team was running up score when the score was 7-0 in, say, the 5th? Don't remember the game, but, I remember the comment and thought it rather eye-opening.
  6. All the players were traded to contenders, so, I would think as players, they'd be thrilled. And, I wonder if the problem isn't so much the FO as MoY.
  7. Well, after Molitor's "no" when it came to seeing players from Triple A, nope, wouldn't surprise me.
  8. Ah, with as well as it appears the facebook thingy works, it's the same as the game not being available for viewing.
  9. OT-Holy Toledo, the Nats pounded the Mets, 25-4.
  10. I know the FO signed Belisle, but, why is Molitor using him when there are other options? Of course, MoY did say there was no one in Triple A he wanted to see, so, I guess there's no youngster in the pen MoY wants to see either.
  11. Getting rid of solid players yet keeping Belisle...
  12. Yeah, so would the rest of us.
  13. could be worse, the Nationals are pounding the Mets into oblivion. 19-1.
  14. I edited my comment, because, well, when someone is ill, probably in poor taste to pick on them.
  15. I saw that after I would have been able to edit, I think. Or, I forgot and now my post will live in TD infamy.
  16. Ah, now I remember, I started down the RISP stat rabbit hole because someone mentioned that Mauer could hit more home runs if he wanted. I was trying to demonstrate that home run totals aren't necessarily the true measure of the ability of someone to get an RBI. For what it's worth.
  17. 1. I said above I'm not the stats guy that some are on this site. 2. Scoring runners is an important part of the game, right? Which I believe has been a knock against Mr. Mauer. Which turns out to be unjustified. 3. Maybe to show there's more value to Mr. Mauer than meets the eye? Again, I'm shocked that Mauer has been this good with RISP this year, considering the abysmal performance of the team overall. Also, I'd have given you odds that Mauer's value wasn't much but, RISP says there is value, providing people get on base in front of Mauer. You mentioned comparing Mauer to other 1st base. I picked RISP and, wow, was I surprised. I'm not even cherry picking, because I pulled the idea of RISP out of an un family friendly place and ran with it.
  18. I think it would be fair to compare Joe's RISP production with other 1st base. It could turn out Mauer's one of the league leaders. No, I don't think he is, but, I think the numbers are quite surprising and unexpected. Good grief, I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't have looked it up:
  19. RISP for this year shows a BA of .426. In 67 plate appearances, 54 AB's, 23 hits, and 31 RBi's. I admit, those numbers surprised me. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=mauerjo01&year=2018&t=b Maybe take a look because I may be missing something. I'm just looking at the line labeled "RISP," on the chart, "Bases Occupied," which I hope is self-explanatory but, I admit, I'm not the stats person a lot of the guys on the site are.
  20. If I read the stats correctly, Mauer has a lifetime BA of .333 with RISP.
  21. Good starting pitching is such a rare commodity I can see why the FO might be reluctant to part ways with Mr. Gibson. And, it may very well be the FO didn't receive offers of compensation commensurate with the way Gibson has been dealing over the last year. In fact, I'd be shocked if there weren't some offers for Mr. Gibson and if the FO turned the offers down, that's some food for thought, in and of itself.
  22. I think Pressly can be replaced. Gibson, though, seems to have really turned the corner so, harder to replace.
  23. I hope the change of scenery helps Mr. Dozier. What I'm not looking forward to, though, is Motter or Petit at the plate. Put Adrianza in and leave him there. I wonder what Molitor is thinking at this point? If this is all a surprise to him, that says a lot too. Also, supposedly Falvey and Levine addressed the team when they were in Boston. I wonder what was said at the time?
  24. Why are you asking your listeners questions? Isn't that supposed to work the other way around?
