  1. Last season was a lot of fun for the players and the fans, but, the players have had to endure multiple 90+ loss seasons before the playoff team of last year. Constantly losing wears on a person and it stands to reason that being able to put that atmosphere behind one would help a player to relax and have a better attitude and, perhaps, perform a bit better. I won't be surprised if the players that were traded continue to do well. In fact, I wish them all the best, because they now have a solid chance at an extended post-season run.
  2. And yet again, Molitor does the team absolutely no favors by putting Adrianza in the outfield. Late in the game one can afford to lose the DH. Good grief.
  3. short version: Cave went caveman on a Duffy pitch for a grand slam. Erv got pulled early, though it wasn't like he was getting hit hard. Moya put in an excellent relief appearance. Duffy has manage to keep his cool, which has been a surprise to all. 6-3 Twins.
  4. Duffy didn't realize that Cave can hit fastball down the middle a long way.
  5. Watching Erv, it almost looks like he's thinking, "Why am I still trying to do this?"
  6. Saw that one coming. Waiting for Duffy to come unglued at the Ump for not calling that low strike.
  7. By the way, I remember the first post I ever put up. I still cannot believe how nervous I was.
  8. Frankly, I'm always surprised when someone actually pays attention to what I put up.
  9. All I can say is: "What the heck kind of lineup is that?"
  10. I think the evidence suggests otherwise.
  11. rats, you've caught on to me...
  12. Another day, another game thread. But, is it just another game thread? I think not, because the Twins have a chance to sweep KC and maybe get a little payback for what the team has endured at the hands of the Royals this year: *Classic James Brown. Watching the game yesterday, it was nice to see the Twins get in the swing of things: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Il8ZC3O64AU *Dire Straights and "The Sultans of Swing." Sort of like the Twins this year and last night. So, I've got the first part, and the second part and, now for the outro in which I head off into the sunset: *Okay, so, my segue didn't really go with the music. Deal. Well, with that, I go into my thoughts segment and post a random picture, because that's the format I've been using this year, and, well, I'm running out of ideas. Either that, or I need more coffee: Some random observations from last night: 1. Max went 3 for 3 with a walk?2. Fun to watch Logan Morrison go Jim Thome on KC.3. Berrios and that curve is something else.4. Sano definitely looks to be taking a more patient approach at the plate.5. KC is looking at some brutal years ahead. Play ball! Pitching for the Twins: Ervin Santana Pitching for the Twins: Danny Duffy
  13. Listening to Bert and Johan, all I can think is, those two should talk pitching, with each other, in front of a bunch of young pitchers, because there are definitely a few things the youngsters could learn from such a session.
  14. Well, they are legendary among ex Twins. Sort of like Butch Huskey.
  15. Even though I've been watching Berrios for a while, it still astounds me to watch a pitch break over the inside corner even though it started outside.
  16. Torri does the speechifying thing pretty well.
  17. Hello everyone. I give you all permission to point and laugh at any mistakes I may have made. Though, I suppose that's kind of a given with game threads.
  18. Okay, after yesterdays matchup blunder I am now taking the time to look things over and making sure things add up properly: *Early sabermetrics. And, after looking things over carefully and making sure I don't miss anything I decided I could get to work on my latest masterpiece: *Saw these guys open for Little River Band ages ago. They got a standing ovation and called back for an encore. They were a Twins Cities institution for a while. Then, going through everything again, there's still a chance I'm a bit confused: *Ah, the humor of my middle age. With that, it's time to think about some thoughts: *Is it hockey season yet? Some random observations from last night: 1. Twins beat KC! 2. Nice to see Sano go 2 for 4. 3. Nice to see Mr Rodney get another save. 4. Perez is a beast! 5. May struck out 3? *Had to pull these from the box score. At work early and, even on the West Coast, this game ended too late for me to watch all the way through. Play ball! Pitching for the Twins: Jose Berrios Pitching for the Royals: Burch Smith
