    3 somewhat obnoxious posts at the Sox site got me banned. I was called "that idiot Twins fan." I'm a bit miffed. Obnoxious, sure, but idiot? That hurts, man.

    I really hope that Jose Quintana gets knocked out of the game, or that was his last inning, so I can use a Hawkism on the Sox site.

    Not only that, I hit the Sox site just in time for the Sox to demonstrate some more of that "good team, bad baseball" mojo that's going on.

    Finally, a chance to troll the Sox fan site. Woo hoo! (My wife and I spent the day yesterday picking out and picking up a rescue dog. Great Pyrenees for those who care)

    So, I was all set to troll the White Sox and enjoy the game and...my cousin from MN drops by to do some work on his daughter's car. The Twins score early and right away, my cousin starts in with the negative waves..right up to Plouffe's game ending at bat. Ah well, there's always today and tomorrow.

    I have checked Hawk a time or two, haven't heard him repeat his "Good team, bad baseball" line. However, I'm not willing to listen to Hawk for more than an inning or two. The Hawk makes Dick and Bert sound like Shakespeare, though.

    I signed up for http://www.southsidesox.com/ just so I can troll the Sox fans. Much to my surprise, no game thread yet. I did announce on the Sox game thread Thursday evening that I was going to be back to give and take abuse Friday evening. Have the Sox fans given up already? By the way, the Sox site posted a picture of the actual lineup card, which I thought was pretty cool. Going through the game thread, though, it appears a lot of Sox fans are, shall we say, unhappy with their team. hahahahaha...may the Twins bats beat the Sox into oblivion.

    I was just thinking "No power Mauer" and how nice it would be if Mauer hit his first home run. And it came to pass. I'm going to troll the Sox fan site Friday. Should be fun. Yes, I have an account. No quarter given, no quarter expected.

    Hah, someone else who questions Mauer's baseball IQ. Yesterday, Mauer, who has not been hitting, with runners on 1st and 2nd, swings into a DP rather than trying to bunt for a hit. Longoria was playing deep enough that Mauer probably had a decent chance of a bunt hit. I'm also with you when it comes to Mauer at 1st. I don't think Vargas would be a defensive downgrade. And Vargas at least has the ability to go deep.* *possibly, Mauer's problems are due to the recurrence of concussion symptoms. If so, then Mauer may need to take some time on the DL and possibly consider retirement. Not just because he's not good right now, which, as a fan, I admit to bias, but, also because he has a beautiful young family that he needs to worry about.

    Someone please give me a good reason..okay, any reason, why Mr. Mauer is was not trying to bunt for a hit with runners on 1st and second, no one out. 3b was certainly playing deep enough. Good grief.

    Meanwhile, the legal drinking age in MN when I first moved there was 19. Changed to 21 during my tenure, though. Yeah, I'm that old.

    Are we talking day and month, or day, month and year? (I'm guessing the latter) Legally changing the birth year would also impact the legal drinking age. Sounds like a concept.

    Please, that could be anywhere in the Upper Midwest, including MI. I left a car on hwy 62 due to a blizzard. Was not a fun walk to shelter. Fortunately, the plows didn't hit the car, though it was neatly plowed around.

    Someone is leaving ND for Michigan? Why? Okay, granted, Michigan is probably a bit warmer in the winter. (although, -20, -40...it's all cold) But still, ND seems like a pretty cool place to hang out. Although, I hear good things about the UP. At times I miss Minnesota. And it did cause me amusement when Mom called me in December to tell me how cold it was in CA. Another chuckle worthy moment was telling my brother-in-law, on Christmas Day, that it had turned really nice, 28 degrees, sun was shining, new snow on the ground, etc. I'm pretty sure my brother-in-law thought I was insane.

    I like this years Twins due to the fact there are options in the system that can be brought up. In fact, there may even be a surplus that can be traded for a need, which is cool.
