  1. Reads more like an indirect shot at Molitor to me.
  2. What I find amusing is how many people carp about Dick and Bert. However, when you listen to people like Hawk, Gubicza, Suzyn Waldman and yes, the NESN announcers, you quickly realize that Dick and Bert pretty good in comparison.
  3. I'm smoking a tri-tip for tacos today. Yes, I'm rubbing it in. Smoked a meatloaf this last week. It was outstanding.
  4. Hmm, the final line has Hughes with 4 srikeouts in 5 innings. Not bad.
  5. No velocity readings, but two strikeouts in 3 innings of work. For what it's worth.
  6. I think it's funny, which is why I leave the formatting alone. I probably won't during the regular season.
  7. Linueups: Twins: 1. Byron Buxton ® CF 2. Brian Dozier ® 2B 3. Max Kepler (L) RF 4. Miguel Sano ® 3B 5. Robbie Grossman (S) DH 6. ByungHo Park ® 1B 7. Jorge Polanco (S) SS 8. Chris Gimenez ® C 9. 8. Good morning, everyone! The weekend is upon us. And we all know what that means. Yes, it's time to not work at work and work around the house. While working on house maintenance may be the lesser of two evil, remember, the lesser of evils is still evil. The Twins will tussle with the Rays today. Mr. Hughes will start for the Twins while Mr. Ramirez will start for the Rays. The crack mod staff has put up the thread volunteer requests. Being the kind and generous person I am, I volunteered a lot of Twins regulars for game threads. Just trying to make life a bit easier for you. You'll soon know who you are and thank me for relieving you of the burden of trying to avoid, I mean, deciding which series to write for. Some things to think about: 1. I got nothing. 2. More nothing. 3. Ummm 4. Hmmm, well, umm 5. And yeah, then there's that thing. Play ball!!
  9. Drat, I have to put on my serious hat. Here goes: The Twins only spend in the FA market if they're only a piece or two short of putting together a playoff contender. This is the year a lot of the youngsters need to show they have what it takes to produce in the big leagues. If the Twins pitching falls on its face again, then the solution is not just a pitcher from the FA market. One pitcher does not make a staff. /serious hat off.
  10. I volunteer Vanimal for the game thread just before the trade-deadline!
  11. Age is no laughing matter. Side-splitting yes, but laughing? Nope.
  12. I want to know why Mac went from using plist xml files to using a sqlite database for preferences..without bothering to, you know mention it. I'm integrating Mac's into an AD environment. I'm not enthralled with some of the third party tools and I'm also frustrated by the lack of documentation for some of the stuff. But, I've got some cool bash scripts I've put together that automates a lot of what I need to do and ARD does a decent job, once it's configured.
  13. As a Twins fan, aren't you supposed to have some aging over-the-hill veteran material?
  14. You have "A" material? Where have you been hiding it?
  15. You know, you're more than welcome to put up your own game thread, right? Shouldn't be entirely up to Chitown and myself.
  16. Lineups: Twins 1. Zack Granite (L) RF 2. Danny Santana (S) LF 3. Ben Paulsen (L) 1B 4. Matt Hague ® DH 5. J.B. Shuck (L) CF 6. Tommy Field ® 2B 7. Eduardo Escobar (S) SS 8. 17. Anyone here interested in the inner workings of Mac computers? Unfortunately, since I'm trying to get some Mac's to behave, I'm having trouble thinking beyond ssh, scp and Linux. How any of that ties into baseball is anyone's guess. And it certainly bodes ill for a baseball thread. Baseball threads should be newly mowed grass, hot dogs, beverages, alcoholic or otherwise, with the occasional wisecrack thrown in. Maybe a musical interlude will liven things up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpMvS1Q1sos Pitching for the Twins: Gibson Pitching for St. Louis: Rosenthal Play ball!!
  18. "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" is not a documentary.
  19. I user a Camp Chef, Sante Series Turkey Cannon Infusion roaster (Amazon) It's too tall if you leave the rack in the grill, so, I take the rack out and put the pan with the rack on the heat distribution plate. I put some water, diced onions and garlic inside the Cannon, a little Soy and cracked pepper on the skin of the chicken and wrap with bacon. Not fully wrap, just 4 or 5 strips of bacon. No need to use tooth picks because the temp will form the bacon to the chicken. Try not to overlap the bacon. (Mistake I made this last time. The exposed bacon cooks beautifully and is very tasty.)
  20. Unfortunately, Traeger has had its day. RecTec is where it's at right now. Unless you want to go pro, but those cost more than I paid for my truck.
  21. Smoked a whole chicken yesterday. Two hours at 225, high smoke, and an hour at 375. The bacon I wrapped on the chicken was perfect, as was the chicken.
  22. Nope, it means more for people who appreciate fine cuisine. Such as yourself.
  23. And the ST Twins win again! I don't like the way Spring Training is trending. The won/loss column is favoring the Twins. Shades of last year.
  24. I put mine in a pellet grill and smoke the mac and cheese for a couple of hours.
