  1. Uh, have you looked at your avatar? Talk about traumatizing!
  2. You know, even the best have trouble with game threads. Even the great RB. Who, you say?
  3. This thread really isn't my style. I need to find something that's more me.
  4. You would manage to open on a day when there is no game.
  5. I think at least part of Santiago's success can be attributed to his willingness to pitch up in the zone. Granted, I'm going by what I've watched this year but it seems he's not so locked into being down in the zone he forgets the strike zone consists of more than just the lower third.
  6. Yeah, but the outfielders have been saving Hughes bacon this year. Time for him to return the favor. Okay, yes, I know he didn't but, still, it's the thought, right?
  7. Bad enough to part ways, but lie to Breslow also?
  8. I dunno, seems like the Twins figured out how to do it.....
  9. Uh, I think you misspelled "Hughes." Or forgot that we're talking plural, not singular.
  10. I see Hughes was at his, sigh, usual.
  11. Say what you want about Blackburn but, for some reason, he was a big game pitcher. Remember the gem he tossed against the Sox in game 163? I believe there was one other playoff game Blackburn was brilliant in. I don't think Gibson is cut from the same cloth.
  12. I'm disappointed in Gibson because he seems to have all the talent needed to succeed without being able to pull it all together. But, it is what it is and unless something changes in Gibson's mental approach I don't see things changing.
  13. I'm trying very hard not to get irritated at losses like the last two. Yes, it would have been nice to have someone come through, but, for now, fielding has been better and so has pitching. Unfortunately, it's a process to get a team ready to take the next step. So far, it looks like the team is moving the right direction. But, as fans, we want to see more than what we've received this year. I always have to temper my expectations with what happened last year. The franchise was in a deep hole and looks to be climbing out of it. It's hard to be patient but we're going to have to be because the new executives are still finding their way while dealing with system wide issues. All of these things take time to address.
  14. A bat, a bat, a pitcher for a bat
  15. Reminds me of MIB 3: Agent J: "Hey man, hey, how old are you?" Young Agent K: "Twenty-nine." Agent J: "You got some city miles on you."
  16. And you claim you're thirty? And what year did you turn thirty? 1990?
  17. I'm hoping Gibson and Hughes have the same leash, short.
  18. Sometimes I get the feeling a change of scenery would help Gibson tremendously. In watching him, it seems to me like Gibson really doesn't want to pitch here.
  19. I think Dozier has suffered from this a bit also. I watched Dozier blister some balls against Shields but they were all right at someone.
  20. With the way things have been going, do you see any reason to continue with the 13 man pitching staff? I ask, because it seems to me it's time to bring in another bat.
  21. You sure stone tablets were around back then?
