  1. I believe the team has more talent than last year. The acquisition of Odorizzi, Lynn and Reed are upgrades over what has gone before. The announcers did mention that it's really hard for a team to get going when they have as many postponements as the Twins have had this season. I have to believe that's had some effect. I was hoping this team had enough talent to compete with teams like New York but, it doesn't look very likely, right now. Perhaps that was expecting a bit too much. I do think the team is poised to take another step forward this year and give Cleveland a run for the Central title. It's a wait and see.
  2. This is true. I'm trying to avoid singling out one player when the whole team stinks right now. Well, at least when it comes to singling Twins players. Brett Gardner? That's another story.
  3. Mr. Turley was but one example of a number of pitchers run through the organization last year, which is what I was trying to get across. Anyway, my point is that I want to enjoy baseball and I find myself getting to wrapped up in things when I should remember that it's a long season. Today's another day and another game against the Yankees. No matter how you slice and dice it, the Twins, no matter who's been on the mound, have a history of having their collective butts whipped when in NY. Kinley is far from the only problem right now. My $.25 worth, which won't even by you a cup of coffee.
  4. Disappointing loss. Maybe the Twins can keep the Yankees under 10 runs today. Oh, and it's getting harder for me to dislike the Yankees, because it appears they've got some pretty decent guys on their team. Though, for some reason, Brett Gardner rubs me the wrong way. Is one player enough to make it reasonable to loathe a team?
  5. As much as I'd like to wring my hands over the start this year, I have to remember this is a team that got its butt whipped early and often last year but still made the playoffs. Personally, I'm dialing back my expectations, so I can enjoy the Twins and baseball in general more. I'm not going to get to exercised over Kinley when the Twins had pitchers like Nick Turley on the roster last year.
  6. I turned the game off. I'm not sure I regret missing Kinley giving up more more better go ahead home runs.
  7. 8th inning and Twins look like they're just going through the motions. Wow.
  8. There's always turning it off. Though, there is something mesmerizing about a train wreck.
  9. What is it with the Twins and the Umps at Yankee stadium? Maybe we should call it the "Cuzzi curse." I know I curse when Cuzzi is umpiring.
  10. I may have been pulling for LaMarre, but even I'm not optimistic enough to consider LaMarre good. Unfortunately, though, he seems to be a better option, right now, than some others on the team. Makes me long for the days of Jason Tyner.
  11. Nah, let Odorizzi lose this without an assist from the bullpen.
  12. I have to admit, it was pretty funny when the announcers started mocking the guy with the shirt. These guys are polar opposites of the idiots on parade broadcast we got from PR.
  13. Hey, I left so I could post a smart-alek remark at you and, well, another long ball. I officially join you in the blamecast.
  14. If the trade had come back to haunt the Twins only once, no big deal. However, I believe the trade also cost on the defensive side of the ball in a couple of games, too.
  15. Only 28 innings? You are an optimist!
  16. Anyway, I got home just in time to watch Aaron Hicks get an rbi and Grossman flail. Yay me.
  17. Gentlemen and Ladies, we have blamecast winner, right here!
  18. ESPN is calling the game, from what I can tell. Uggh.
  19. Oh my gosh! I pray the young man recovers completely.
  20. I think it needs a chitown edit, change the period to a colon.
  21. Yeah, but then you switched to "Chocolate Covered Sugar Bombs" and the rest is history.
  22. You think weird, I think "entertaining."
