    It's hard to win ballgames when 60% of your rotation gives you a mediocre to bad start every time out

    Yes, injury prone players are cheaper on the trade and free agent market, and seen as better value picks in the draft. The Twins under this ownership and FO always have and always will be injured to hell, both on the big league roster and our top prospects in the minor leagues.

    You know what, they deserve it more than us. Skubal at least gives them a good shot to win a game. Twins are getting bounced 0-2, we all know that.

    It was widely panned as an overpay at the time and it sure didn't disappoint

    And this was the only favorable pitching matchup of the series. Staring down the barrel of a sweep. Even losing 2 of 3 at home would be embarassing. To a sub .500 team, at home, in a wildcard race.

    Other than setting too lax of a culture so that guys are OK with going out and putting up terrible AB's like this every other night because they'll get a Capri Sun and an ice cream bar after the game, yeah.

    Alcala sucks man. Both him and Duran have million dollar arms but 10 cent pitching skill.

    Man I love Torii but this is a hard watch having him yukking it up in the booth while we go through yet another late game collapse.

    This team is still bad, turns out the Angels are in a whole different galaxy of bad.

    I understand prospects don't always turn out but man this is bad for Lee. He looks completely overmatched.

    And they get the White Sox to end the year while we get the Orioles likely fighting for the AL East title. Not good.

    Can't lose this one being the only favorable pitching matchup of the series. Way too many of these games where the offense decides to roll over and die. Shouldn't happen.

    Lee/Julien 9-1 is bad lineup construction. 2 free outs to turn the lineup over.

    Paddack - hasn't had a good year since 2019 Varland - no shot, starter experiment is done Festa - below average start, hasn't proven anything Matthews - awful start, hasn't proven anything Morris - maybe, but would be hesitant given the adjustment curve for Festa and Matthews

    That is embarassing for Royce. This guy had 12 strikeouts in 41 innings. Going down looking against that is a bad look. Good job Willi

    Pablo, Joe, Ober locked in, SWR probably makes the opening day rotation as well but not guaranteed, why don't you tell me who the 5th guy should be?

    Still need a 5th. Festa hasn't proven enough to be given that spot. Made the same mistake with Varland this past offseason, they need to get a reliable 5th. If Festa turns out to be good then you have 6 reliable options, never a bad problem to have.

    I think Festa will be fine, Matthews not so much unless he gets better stuff or figures out how to throw chase pitches, might work in the minor leagues, big league hitters are too good to pound the zone all the time.

    Like I said earlier, only positive to Matthews and Festa pitching like crap is ownership is gonna take a lot of heat if they don't pony up for a starter or two this offseason. Whether they care or not is one thing, but at least it puts some pressure on them.

    Yup Angels will bring in a lefty in the middle innings and Rocco will panic pull Larnach and Wallner from the lineup so we have Margot and Farmer hitting in high leverage in the 9th inning
