  1. Its interestng to see a player who could be drafted as a position player or a pitcher....Why dont we draft Greene, play him at 3b/ss and use him as a reliever as well? This would be a great boon to the roster, you wouldnt have to carry an extra pitcher, when you bring him into pitch, you insert your utility infielder....feedback please
  2. Im thinking of Buxton in the deep freeze, looking at Grainite as his possible sucessor
  3. Dozier white hot, no question, perfect time to trade him, are you gonna tell me all the teams in contention have the 2b they want? Of course his power makes him exceptional, and thats why I think we can get the proposed haul
  4. 1- I want to see Mitch Garver catch almost all the games until the end of the regular season. 2. I want to see Gonsalves called up and pitch in the rotatation 3. I want to see Granite called up and play every day Did we ever receive a player for Arcia?
  5. I just hate to see Escobar jerked around....like this
  6. Dozier is phenomenal, I would hate to see him go, that said, now is the time to trade him. Here is what I think we could get for him, a potential starting catcher, a close to ready starting pitcher and an A ball throw in, I hate to do it, but Polanco is clearly ready to take over and we can recharge the team with the return.
  7. so agree, this is a new Vargas, was very unimpressed two years ago, despite fast start, however now this is a new Vargas, which really complicates the 1b/dh situation as Sano has to end up at 1b
  8. cool, thanks so much for that info!
  9. When you consider the options at 1b, Twins are loaded. I was not a Vargas fan, but he has changed, now Im not sure, but if you get by Vargas, What about Park who hit 3 HR in a recent game, then you have Daniel Palka...wow! I guess the good news is Vargas would bring back a nice return, but of course the Twins are deathly afraid of the "Ortiz" effect and they should be, I would love to know what you guys think of the coming logjam at 1b. BTW I will eat crow if SANO sticks at 3b, No way Jose!
  10. His errors are too amateurish....Now is the time to find out....but I want to see how the Twins finish, can they win the second half? As long as they have momentum, lets play to win. I like Santana at 3b.
  11. Have you noticed that Wheeler has been dominating, but seems to be an after thought with the Twins? Whats up with that?
  12. Twins dodge another bullet today as Sano bungles 3b again
  13. Lets sincerely hope that this is NOT an audition The cancer needs to be completely eradicated..
  14. After watching Sano just drop a pop up that any little leaguer would have caught, it is time for me to comment. TRUTH Sano is a better outfielder than a 3b, you clamored for a trade of Plouffe, then for Sano to move to 3b, what now brown cow? IF Sano is ever to play the field, the only position for him is currently occupied....by a horrible contract... So yes maybe Sano can play the field...but it would have to be at 1b Dont run from this, I was the only one saying Sano wont be any better at 3rd...admit it...admit you were wrong about Trading Plouffe but even more wrong about SANO and third base....
  15. agree decent color man...but so booorrrring as play by play...
  16. Ok, I was wrong, I thought Dan Gladden was the worst announcer in baseball, but go listen to Palkas first homerun for Rocjester....I will give you some idea...Palka at Plate, kills the ball..announcer, says, this game is going to be tied.. then says ADAM BRETT WALKER (a black right handed hitter) Palka is a white left handed hitter, has tied the game up....I think ok Walker hit a home run earler, then I look at the score and it HAS to be Palka....wow monotone, boring and worse, wrong player, wrong color, wrong side of the plate....worst call in baseball history? It has to be a candidate...When you listen to Gladden, you have no idea whats happening..ball hit...this going to be off the wall (no excitement in his voice) anyway, Danny, there is one worse than you...believe it or not!
  17. Best Catcher Murray? I would say Garver, throws out 64% of runners, and was ML hitter of the year in the farm system two years ago...lets see what Murray does as he moves up to real competition
  18. Answer to what are your strengths as a catcher? I am well rounded? Is is your arm, is it your bat, your what?
  19. oh sorry, didnt realize observations had to be made while they were active..I will keep that in mind
  20. I know I am going to get my come comeuppance on this topic. I am impressed with Sano in OF, his instincts speak of playing a skill position for most of his life. Does Sano make mistakes? Bad mistakes? Uh..Yeah he does and has, and wil in the future. His bat justifies his existence in the of. I know many of you have clamored for him to be at 3B, but he is better in the outfield, if he was at 3b, you would soon be groaning at how over rated he is at a 3b. Trade Plouffe if you want, but Sano is not the answer long term at 3b.
  21. Do what it takes to sign this guy....right now..DO NOT LET RYAN et al participate in the draft! Candidate: Jason McLeod Current role: Senior Vice President, Player Development and Amateur Scouting (Cubs) Skill set: During his tenure with the Cubs, McLeod has played a major role in turning over an organization that was thin on minor-league talent, augmenting the infield talent that was present before his tenure with Kris Bryant and Albert Almora. He also has a keen eye for what can be considered undervalued pitching, as the Cubs have enjoyed pitching success by acquiring "project" arms whose value has increased with the club—most recently Jake Arrieta and Jason Hammel. His resume shows that he has an eye for talent and would be a good fit for a larger role in any front office.

    Who do you keep?

The Twins dont have too many "untouchables" but here is my list based on either consistency or potential. Catcher - Nobody (I would consider Centeno) 1B - Park 2b - Nobody 3b- Nobody SS - Escobar, Nunez LF -Nobody CF- Buxton RF -Sano Pitcher - Nobody Thats a really pathetic evaluation. This shows how poor Ryan and Staff evaluate talent. When you look at this, only two of these were raised Twins, Sano and Buxton. Escobar and Nunez traded for from yankees and chisox.
  23. DFA...work for you?
  24. Nick, right on the money. This was so well written I had to look to see who wrote it. I think the bottom line is, Terry Ryan and his cohorts are TERRIBLE evaluators of talent.....which of course means, as long as he stays, there is no hope for improvement
  25. Lets face reality.... The Twins Organization...does not know how to evaluate talent....Thats the number 1-3 problem. Terry Ryan...(i have been a defender of him in the past) got a lot of credit for the Nathan trade, developing J Santana etc...but who the heck has he drafted? I know, I know..Mauer.but even on Mauer the organization was divided....The problem pure and simple is..the Twins don;t have enough talent.... To be a decent organization, Ryan has to go...and my next move would be to demote Mauer to full time bench...or give him his outright release...he is taking a valuable hitting spot off the table. I was hopeful too about his start but he is receding rapidly into the same average hitting first baseman. Play Park full time and DH Arcia most of the time. The time is now for a complete revamp! At this point too, let the young pitchers come up and get their ears batted back....
