  1. As July comes closer, we'll hear plenty of trade rumors directed mostly toward a Span deal.Ultimately, his health and consistency will determine whether his value is high. Personally, I'd like to keep Span around through his contract. Revere will have to take every opportunity (particularly in LF) to show that he can start and play in ML. I believe he may see this as a continued audition for the Twins, but for me.. it's an open invitation for the rest of the league to see what he's got out there. Hopefully he can continue to strengthen that arm and his trade value will follow, but now is not quite the time.
  2. I think Parmelee is the starting 1B while Morneau is still a question mark defensively. Yes, they may decide to simply give Morneau the DH in which case Parmelee is here to stay. If Morneau transitions back into the game defensively, I see Parmelee starting at 1B in Rochester. The middle infield continues to be the thorn. I don't think anyone really knows what to do in there just yet. It's all a toss up until Dozier is here. It takes me twice as long to write posts. My daughters frequent and stealthy keyboard attacks are sometimes cause for starting over. She unplugged the computer once... fun.
  3. I like how your "crystal ball" thinks. The Dozier part I'm still not sure about. I would like to see it happen.
  4. I don't disagree, but an all caps terrible might not be true. Can't imagine Willingham in LF could be worse than Delmon Young. I haven't been able to see Parmelee throw the ball from RF yet, but Cuddy's range & zone were never great, it was all in his arm. Having Revere to come into the OF with Span late in games could work. Early Offense/Late Defense.
  5. Hughes has definitely shown that he wants to play.
  6. Revere will be the 4th outfielder filling in wherever needed. He'll likely be used often off the bench late in the game for base-running situations. (and not necessarily in place of another OF) Parmelee, if he makes the team, will flip between 1B and RF. Morneau will be DH only for most games during his transition back into the game. Mauer will trade off with Parmelee when he's in RF and Doumit will catch. It appears RF will be platooned by a host of players including Doumit.
  7. exciting lineup today! Nice to see Blackburn again.. it's been a while. Revere's speed is needed at least off the bench, Utility OF? That is, if the Parmelee RF day 3 experiment continues to go well. Benson further auditions his talents. hughes and Burroughs are under a spot light today. exciting stuff!
  8. What surprises me is it seems the right decisions are being made this spring regarding positions. I do think there is still some debate about how the middle infield will be played throughout the season.
  9. Personally, I don't think it would happen, but we have seen stranger things.I'm also curious how Willingham feels spending some quality time out there in LF, wondering if we'll be seeing a lot of that this year anyway.
  10. Parmelee in the opening day lineup scenario is all about Morneau's continued health and not about Parmelee or Doumit. As for the downgrade, I could still see some lineups calling for Revere in RF or even LF. The idea is to get Parmelee in there while Morneau remains a question mark. I think they're looking at this as more of a short term arrangement while the dust settles and cobwebs clear for Justin. If that doesn't happen, then some other more bizarre scenarios may play out down the road.
  11. Mauer & Parmelee rotate @ 1B. Then, while Mauer & Doumit rotate @ C, Parmelee in RF. Doumit would also get occasional DH.
  12. It must be awesome to own a piece of space in that ballpark before we fill the seats. In the past I worked at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and have some similar feelings about the museum before the morning rush of toddlers and teens occupied the galleries. Great piece of writing!
  13. Verlander, Liriano, Masterson, Fister, and going out on a limb thinking Peavy has a return to old self.
  14. Maybe you haven't read this article yet?
  15. There is no need to take Punto back. There are enough options already available at camp. Being involved in a Punto trade would only mean that the organization loses another decent player. This team isn't going to the Championship this year with our without Punto.
  16. A very interesting play involving Span calling Revere off. Hopefully Revere learns quickly from that play.. (today, he's playing Left)
  17. Yes, he did. 7 of 14 with 4 HR's, 3 HR's off 3 hits in one game. However, I'd be careful not to try to compare Craig Monroe with Delmon Young, especially in their ST following leaving MN.
  18. Decent second inning for Hendriks.
  19. It would also make that game's moment a very special and exciting one. I never get excited when Butera is at the plate.
  20. Hopefully a big day for Hendriks... May shake something up here.
  21. yep. That's the right half dozen. If Giolito is out, I'd probably throw Kevin Gausman.
