  1. Ill just add a few notes of things I think are musts that play off yours. Martin is a must add. Versastile and currently raking as you said. Sure we have Castro coming back but when is it ever bad to have to guys with versatility and base stealing late in games? Plus, unlike Castro....Martin potentially has a bat if he stays hot that is worth starting. Castro is a guy we have been forced to start far too many games, he cant hit. But hes a weapon as a late runner and D replacement. Luplow has a life span of days. Hes gone the moment the first player returns. There is no reason to even talk about anyone else off the bat. Hes the 100% first boot. My biggest thing is WHERE IS KODY FUNDERBURK. Him not being on this team is literally malpractice by Falvey. Not only is he dominating but hes LEFTY. Hes an absolute need. Right now our current plan of attack is to rotate between guys who cant pitch in AAA and up here over and over(props to Winder for 1 night though). Weve seen Balazovic fail, moran, headrick, sands......MANY TIMES. Stop it. Balazovic was so bad we sent him down 5 days ago, hes the recall vs Texas?? Our only lefty option to face Seager and Lowe last night was Thielbar after throwing 22 pitches the day before. That is comical Oh Funderburk isnt onthe 40???? Well thats easy, DFA Gordon. Hes DONE. Hes obsolete. Castro is his age and does the same things but better. Isnt Gordon like 50/50 in stolen bags? Lol. Worse defender. Martin adds to that. We dont need Nick Gordon this year, next year or in 2028. But if hes that valuable. Just move Ortega to the 60 day right away. Sucks for him, but lets be honest.....another guy we do not need. So yeah, my biggest moves are Get Martin and Funderburk up here and Luplow out of here ASAP. The luplow move is a lock. Agreed on Buck. If you wanna play, get your A** in the field.
  2. Sorry double post
  3. Just brutal. And it keeps happening nightly in baseball. Wanted to post this one though because 1. Its really bad. 2. We took the brunt of it and 3. Our game thread regarding Wallner Folks legit thought it was a good call and'or Wallner should have swung. I hate that our young guys consistently get screwed by umps(Juliens K was worse just not as impactful so missed the list since Seagers walk was 9th inning) but I LOVE that they know the zone. The day Wallner starts consistently swinging at that pitch is the day he becomes lost at the plate. You dont "protect" at the plate against the ump when its a blatant ball. You expect the ump to do their job while you do yours and take the walk. Glad we overcame it. But im ready for robobumps. Julien, AK and Wallner will see a surge in OBP too so lets do it.
  4. What you just said from the Twins stand point is exactly why you could do it. You see what price Royce is willing for(maybe he wants to gamble on himself) but hes a real talent that can be worth the risk on the Twins end. You lock him up now and get him for cheaper. Or you dont do it now and he rakes for 3 years and now at 27 hes wanting to negotiate to stay and 40 mil a year. That is sports contracts. They are all a gamble. Ohtani is going to be a gamble. Pujols was a gamble for the Angels. I'm not saying give Royce 12 years 300 mil right now. But hes definitely a talent that you see if hes willing to take a long term deal that keeps him here for 8ish years at 17ish per. Then its up to Royce Hes older than Acuna but has more baggage injury wise, so he may be inclinded to take the same financial security even tho its 3 years older.
  5. Correct it may not be enticing enough to Royce. But on our end its something to consider trying. Maybe he sees injuries and wants the security and negoiates a good deal. Also while Acuna did his young, its a long deal. His first season off the deal he will be 31 so thats gonna be into the 30s as well. Although im assuming Atlanta will rework it when hes around 29 rather than using their two team options to appease him. But you are right, Royce at 24 likley wouldnt be inclined to take a Buxton contract at 24.
  6. I am aware hes under control thats the whole point of the post lol. Teams are doing early lock ups at better rates. Examples being the Braves with Albies and Acuna. Example(made up numbers) of this for Royce Option 1(common practice) Keep him on his current "rookie" deal through age 29 where we mostly pay him pennies compared to his value. But at 29 have to pay him his mega prime contract that could be 8 years 250 mil Option 2(what Braves did): Pay him more short term by locking in a 8 year 100 mil contract. But you get him through a bunch of his prime. Then worry about the next contract later on. 8 years 100 mil with 2 club options to make it 12 for $124 total. Acuna signed this in 2019 at 21 and the Braves get him through 2028 his age 30 season now. 10 full seasons of control at a great rate. So they are paying more than they needed to right away but hes theres for longer and cheaper. So when hes doing **** like hes doing this year they are ballin on a discount.
  7. Something that is becoming very common now days is teams(Braves specifically) locking up their young talent right away with long deals at a lower rate then they would be in their prime by paying them now. This is a move I doubt we do, but we really should. Pay more money now when hes young to get him on a long great deal and dont worry about having to do anything when hes 27/28. This guy is a special talent. Pray for good health going forward.
  8. Pablo 100% should get the first playoff game. Sonny has been great but his control and middle innings blow up in a hurry Id rather not have him setting the tone. If Ryan groin is healthy and hes back to form, he can be really sneaky in October. His fastball heavy repetoire is easier to square up in the summer when the ball is flying. In the April/Fall cool air it plays much better.
  9. LIke I said this was the inning. What a comeback. Top of the order for Texas due up. Cmon Jax.
  10. They were not under any circumstances going to throw a strike to Royce there Uh oh. Lefty coming in. Cmon boys!!
  11. Badly need our first hit with a runner on this inning
  12. We have to treat this inning like its the 9th hitting Wallner, Correa, Lewis due up And Chapman lurking in the 9th. Lefty throwing 100 cant be how we draw it up
  13. I can not wait for the ump scorecard of this game This guy SUCKS
  14. Polanco has 34 regular season games left as a Twin
  15. True, the one league where you should not be taking.
  16. Polanco and Correa are both well due for big homers. Lets hope they get them soon here.
  17. Royce is a star. I have a hunch we will need a hit or 2 with men on base to win this game though.
  18. It was a blatant ball that didnt just miss the strike zone it missed where he was aiming by the entire zone. Wallner should never ever swing at that pitch.
  19. Wallner and Julien continually get screwed by umps Thats just awful
  20. Yeah not sure what Bouchy was thinking there. Let us spare another AB from the guy who couldnt make my Tuesday Softball team
  21. The difference in these offenses is staggering. Both teams taking advantage of the ball carrying and hitting homers or doubles. But Rangers are winning because they take pro At bats where they work in walks, singles, infield hits, spraying the ball and moving runners. Twins are boom or bust. Technically Lewis had smart base running but knowing our team he shouldnt have just went for 3rd he should have tried to force a error and went all the way for home. Our only chance
  22. We are super good at moving runners along productively
  23. Obviously we were never getting Seager. But the difference between him and Correa is laughable. What a hitter. Great Abs at all times. Hard contact. Clutch.
