  1. You would have to wonder if Coulombe or Duran are available in an emergency since each of them only used 11 pitches.
  2. Ok. I was wrong. I thought I heard on the broadcast that Topa was warmed up.
  3. Topa for the 8th. Hmmmm. Not going to question it now as the Baldelli/Tingler bullpen has been rolling boxcars today.
  4. Great 2 innings by Alcala! Now let’s hope there is still life left in the bats.
  5. Worst part Sim has to stay in since the Twins don’t have a true inning eater bullpen arm.
  6. I guess I look at it from the standpoint that he has played every day since he's come back. He doesn't seem to be running at 100% and his hitting isn't timed up yet. Yet with so much pressure to produce when he was put back into the lineup, it might be getting to him even though he doesn't show it. I think he wants to be the guy you can put the team on his shoulders on and he still has to build back up to that. So a day off here or there with Keirsey getting some playing time shouldn't be a surprise.
  7. I know that Keirsey is the defensive replacement, but I would almost leave him in the lineup at the point the way that Lewis is hitting.
  8. Now the question of how Rocco will manage the bullpen. Does he go Jax/Duran to at least guarantee 1 win today? Or does he split Jax and Duran and who comes on in the 8th?
  9. May get your wish if France goes on the IL. I doubt he will at this point, but you never know.
  10. I think something that is forgotten has been most of these younger players like Larnach (you could add Lewis, Julien, and Miranda to this group) were drafted and developed during the heavy usage of the infield shift. These players have been developed from the minors about launch angle and pulling the ball over the shifted infield and developing to analytics instead of baseball situations. I sometimes find it difficult on the player to expect them to change 5-8 years of development in under a year because the rules have now changed and now the philosophy doesn't work anymore. Many of us even in our own jobs take up to a year to be fully productive when we switch jobs or careers. The best way to maybe compare this to real life is to compare these players to an individual that is taking online courses after working all day to better their skills or change jobs/careers. These players need to change how they hit in a post-shift era so this will take time and patience. Something most of us fans (including me!) do not have.
  11. I believe the team would prefer a plane ride, but however they get there as long as they show up is fine.
  12. All the punching bags struck back today. Kiersey, Clemens, Lewis all produced timely hits. Great win and now off to Baltimore!
  13. This entire crew has been terrible this weekend.
  14. Gotta finish this. Royals and Tigers both just lost. They get a chance to keep gaining.
  15. Hopefully it doesn't come to this, but the Giants just put their DH in center so they do not have a DH when that spot comes up again.
  16. This is why you need to score runs when you have the chance. The bullpen can't be stellar forever and will eventually lay a clunker.
  17. Provus was wrong. There was no contact play. The bases were loaded so when the ball is put on the ground Jeffers has to come home.
  18. Good thing you willed that walk into existence.
  19. I'll definitely have a helping of crow with France. All three are basically on prove-it deals as Bader has a mutual option for next year. I think this says more about the rest of the team, especially the position players, needing to get back to expectations. Let's hope this winning streak finally starts warming up the offense before the pitching eventually cools off from being elite.
  20. Good win for us. Almost depressing with a six-game winning streak that we can't move any closer in the standings. The entire AL Central won tonight, even the White Sox!
  21. Actually, I was surprised that there wasn't a story about how hot Baldelli's seat should be with the recent firing of Shelton by the Pirates since Shelton was his bench coach in 2019.
  22. They haven't announced anyone warming in the bullpen so I'm assuming that Paddack will at least start the 8th.
  23. I could see Paddack going batter by batter with Coulombe warmed up to finish the game or maybe having Duran come in the middle of the ninth to limit his pitch count.
