  1. Thanks - I have had major issue with this for some time. We were not good but this is a butch of junk.
  2. Then respectfully you would be simply wrong. Effing up would not be getting full value out of your best player. That is a good way to be a very bad team.
  3. I am very Happy with our Front office. They made it very clear when they started the process of putting him on the market that they would need to be "very motivated" by an offer if they were going to move Dozier. We can all discuss "our" opinion of the situation but I think the fact that they are sticking to what they said and unless getting a great offer they will hold off. They would like this to be done but the reality is that they will continue to field offers and if the right fit comes about Dozier will be moved. If not he will stay and be a part of this years team. We all seem to forget that 2 years ago we were on the verge of a playoff birth and everyone was gung ho. It is possible that the young guns put it together and the vet pitching bounces back and we again could be in position for a wildcard spot. Likely maybe not but possible. Also we have some very nice pitching prospects that folks seem to not have any confidence in... I do. Keep steadfast front office and get only what is a great deal if not we are good keeping our stud. Stud for possible stud or possible dud that has had possible arm issues is just not very good logic.
  4. There goes any leverage and possible deal with LA.... Looks like he may be staying...
  5. My Guess after looking at some tape Kyle Wright appears to have the best fundamentals and with his size looks pretty projectable to keep improving. He would be my pick at this point..... Greene looks like a good physical speciaman but is a LONG ways away.... Faedo's mechanics appear to be pretty hurkey jerkey and injury risk waiting to happen. With our GM's strength in pitching I would have to believe their 1st pick will be a pitcher....
  6. Next 72 hours aught to be interesting. Hoping for Deleon, Alvarez and Puig we would likely have to pony up something extra.
  7. There is a ton of "disinformation" being floated out there. My guess is that the names that are being mentioned have at least checked in and like most have a price they are willing to pay.... Twin's are wanting to be Wowed and the new front office HAS to make sure the first trade they make is in everyones mind a great deal. Coming in and doing a So/So deal would not be a good thing.
  8. Actually it has been documented in several national places that the hangup may be Bellinger. He is major league ready and would start day 1 in left field and when Mauers contract is up has the glove to move there if needed. That is the likely hangup. Arms are nice but fall off.... bats just keep on ticking. I would guess that if he was included it would be done tomorrow..... Twin's keep waiting for tomorrow.
  9. Not that the Braves are actually in it or not but I do believe Albies, Newcomb and Sorka may get it done. Albies could start at short "this" year he is that good.
  10. When ever you are trying to get the best deal you always have to be willing to walk away and I do believe we are creating this for teams to understand that we will not take a discount for him.... even if it is a "false" deadline to just create a perception that is the point. By the way I think that Deleon, Alvarez, Stewart and Bellinger would get it done... yesterday! If we add Kiriloff and say Javier to the deal....
  11. Not sure why time is running out...... If they get what they want and need okay if not we move on to spring training with the understanding of what we want but are not going to keep discussing. If they call and say okay we will do it under your terms next month I am guessing we say okay...
  12. This is the main snag in the situation. Folks talk about Dozier worth nothing on a losing team as we will lose either way... Plain stupid. The guy is a stud and everyone knows it. Just getting a couple of decent prospects would be going the wrong direction. The Twin's NEED to get potential difference makers and cannot settle for anything less. Hot minor league prospects generally fizzle when they hit the show. That is why we NEED 3 in hopes one actually is a difference maker. If not pass..... Keep Dozier and keep working on improving with him as a centerpiece.
  13. I like your thinking but may need to be adjusted as Dodgers won't do that one.... JDL, Alverez, Puig, Kazmir for Dozier, Kiriloff, Gibson, Burdi That may be closer....
  14. My understanding is that the Twin's really want Bellinger along with Deleon as the main pieces. Want to get creative... send Kirilloff as part of the deal as they get a very good guy that is a few years away..... Deleon, Bellinger, Kasmir, Arruebarrena - Yaisel Sierra for Dozier, Kiriloff, Gibson We get 2 ready made prospects, 2 wildcards, and an old fart that can maybe help us. They get their man at 2nd, Gibson may be salvageable with them and Kiriloff who down the road may be a great get for them. Win/Win. In order to get this done the guys may need to think out of the box....
  15. Last 3 years.... Averages about 10 hr's, 90 runs scored, 50 RBI, 15 SB's, 300 ave and about a 330 OBP. Very nice but to me that is a mediocre player. My standards are evidently pretty high.... as I hope the Twin's nation would be.
  16. Sale I understand as he has the ability to win a game by himself and is one of the top 5 pitchers in the game.... Eaton I was stunned with what they gave up for a mediocre player but he has a very team friendly contract. I look at his stats for his career and they are nice but not real special..... OBP is very good not much power, not a run producer.... If you want a place setter he is nice ... if you want someone to drive him in.... Dozier... Maybe I am a homer but Dozier has only got better and better and I would much rather keep him than take less than several GREAT prospects.
  17. Evidently you missed it the Nationals acquired OF Adam Eaton from the White Sox for RHP Lucas Giolito, RHP Reynaldo Lopez, and RHP Dane Dunning....... THREE high end pitchers..... If you believe that Eaton has more value than Dozier I do believe you are wrong. Looking at offensive stats? Also if you look at Eaton in CF he is on the negative side of replacement value. Dozier a 40 plus HR guy who is a run producer, good on defense, great in the locker room..... etc.... Only thing with Eaton is his contract is longer and at a controllable price. But as a player... not even close.
  18. I do think for a lot of us that is the whole issue. The market for a top notch player ie. Eaton set the market and not getting close to that we would not be getting close to the market price for Dozier. Sending Barios and Jay for Seager and saying that is a good deal is about the same..... not enough..... if the market says that is the price than you wait until the price goes up as it is not enough.
  19. Respectfully I believe you are 100% wrong. With what was given for Eaton the "starting Point" has to be 2 of the 3 top pitching prospects PLUS one offensive player. If that is not on the table the Twin's management HAS to walk away. This is a GOOD thing as if they set the precedence of "giving away" all star players for less than top dollar that is what they will be getting in the future. When shopping you have to be willing to walk away if you want to get the best price. If we don't get what we feel is a GREAT deal we walk away. We have the best asset in the deal BY FAR. If not getting an Eaton type of deal we keep Dozier and move on. We are not dealing from a point of need as we have what other's want.... we need to remember that. History of hot minor league prospects are about 1 in 3 actually pan out to be decent. Thus we NEED 3 top end prospects at minimum in hopes 1 actually is a difference maker.
  20. Interesting thing is how different writers are getting "inside" information from our new front office. Not sure what this means but they are definitely spreading the wealth of disinformation.
  21. I do believe that most are over rating the Cards pitching. Weaver and Flaherty are number 3/4 starters most likely. We have a ton of those in our system so why would we move our best asset for pieces like that. Bader is okay but not great power or speed. 4th outfielder type guy. Not seeing it here unless Reyes is included. As far as Wong they would need to make space for Dozier is why he would likely need to be included. He is still young and is still decent and has shown in flashes to be pretty good. Defensively he is very solid. I too believe that we are driving up the price and want Bellinger and Deleon and Bellinger is the sticking point most likely.
  22. Need a bat to come back in the deal. Twin's reportedly want Bellinger and that is the hangup as the Dodgers are balking on that. I agree with those that say we need to wait and get what we want or pass. The Dodgers are in full win now mode and Dozier could/would be a perfect fit. They need right handed bat and 2nd basemen. He is a quality guy and would be great there. For that matter we wait. I wait for De Leon, Bellinger and Alvarez. They are likely trying to push Puig in the deal in Bellingers place.
  23. Bellinger is the issue. We want him and they don't want to give him up. We need to be patient as Dozier for de Leon as the main piece is just not enough. We need at least 3 high end prospects as "maybe" one of the 3 actually are good... not even great. At this point Dozier IS great and relatively cheap. No "need" to move him unless we get a GREAT deal.
  24. I am very impressed with the new management as they are dealing with the Dozier situation as they should. The Twin's NEED to get a haul from the Dodgers or whoever or don't move him! With what the Whitesox got in their deals the Twin's need to get a lot more than just De Leon. He is a very nice piece but FAR from a sure thing. I would not settle for anything less than Deleon, Alvarez and Puig. As expected Bellinger is the other key piece the Twin's want as he can be plugged in - in left and has a bigger upside than Deleon. Like any dealing you have to be willing to walk away to get what you want. If not we still have Dozier who is a star. Don't settle!!
  25. Pass on McCarthy with his health history. Kazmir a better option and still helps them. Kazmir, Puig, de Leon and Alvarez for Dozier, Rosario and maybe a low minor league piece to entice them.... They get huge help from right side with all star player and a nice young 4th outfielder. Minor league piece of ? Badoo? Cabbage? Wade? They also get some cap space. We get a older starter and young studs that are fairly close as well as Puig who is bit of a wildcard... lots of talent but is he or isn't he a head case.
