  1. Similar to the Carlos Santana signing in 2024 - won't overwhelm anyone but he's 'someone' and beats the alternative of putting Kody Clemens at 1B on a daily basis. Now add 2-3 arms to the bullpen and we might see a small sliver of optimism.
  2. I love Buxton's loyalty or at least his willingness to stay with the Twins. If I wasn't a Twins' fan, I'd say he's making a mistake. Someone like the Mets or Dodgers would love to have Buxton and he'd find himself playing for a legitimate WS contender. At this point in his career, he deserves that opportunity.
  3. This. The Twins did 'ok' at the deadline but considering the fire sale that they had, it would have been nice to land more talent than they did. I don't have confidence in this front office to trade Buxton, Lopez, and Ryan and a build a super farm system. In theory, sure. But, in practice, nothing indicates this front office can pull it off.
  4. I want no part of Volpe. But I could see Falvey doing something like that.
  5. Craziest thing with Gasper is that he made the team out of spring training last year and that was with the Twins supposedly thinking they would have a contending team.
  6. That worst case might turn into 'most realistic' - can't imagine Jeffers is long for Minnesota.
  7. I'm wondering if we don't see something like Lopez or Ryan for Anthony Volpe and a couple of lottery ticket prospects...
  8. And I know they need bullpen arms but Topa...woof. Will be disappointed if he makes the team out of spring training.
  9. Why would anyone want Larnach's ABs to go to James Outman? He a brief productive stretch with the Dodgers but has otherwise been extremely underwhelming. And he's not exactly young either in terms of age or service time. He's been around. Kind of is who he is. Now you could say that about Larnach but who Larnach is - he's a better player than Outman.
  10. Nothing wrong with this trade. They need to start somewhere with the bullpen rebuild.
  11. Geez, what the heck happened with Miranda? Looked like a potential building block player in 2022 and is now out of the organization. Not sure if that has more to do with the player or more to do with organizational philosophies and player development (or lack thereof).
  12. And while it will suck in the short-term, and maybe longer than that, go ahead and tear it all the way down this winter. If they keep what they have and try to fill the roster gaps with no upside, cost-effective older players, that will make the 2025 trade deadline look worse than it does.
  13. I don't necessarily approve of Falvey and he's made some questionable decisions. But, with that said, he's in an impossible situation. The Pohlad's aren't committed to winning and to make things worse, I don't think there's a good line of communication between ownership and the front office. It seems like Falvey's kept in the dark and is on a need to know basis. Tough way to build a roster.
  14. Rojas is a cult hero for the Dodgers. He's already said he will only play for the Dodgers in 2026. Why is he even on this 'list'...
  15. Trading Joe Ryan and Pablo Lopez are the most obvious answers to this question...
  16. Considering what he signed for, France was actually a pretty good move by the Twins.
  17. I don't have a lot of confidence in the Twins' front office to identify the right prospects in a trade for Joe Ryan or Pablo Lopez.
  18. The amount of word salad that comes from this organization...
  19. I was way too hard on Popkins. He wasn't the issue. The Twins' anemic performances at the plate are systemic. Not sure what they actually teach in the lower levels, but whatever it is, it's not working.
