Gonzalez is listed at 5'10. Which means, he's probably closer to 5'9. Certainly possible that he can play 1B but he would be quite an outlier.

The reality of the situation is, 'whether the Twins owe Buxton anything', it isn't a question that the fans will answer. The Twins will answer that question and based on the amount of love they showed him for his 10 year anniversary, you can see they respect him as a person and as a player. IYAM, conversations about his future in Minnesota will continue to be had and I think the Twins will do what Buxton wants - even if it means trading him elsewhere.

It is a pretty cool concept. In general, I feel like MLB has failed to market their top stars - the national broadcasts should try something like this.

Team identity is what a team hangs its hat on - how they win games. The closest thing for the Twins at this point is the rotation - presuming Ryan meets expectations and Bradley / Sim continue to pitch they like have.

Yeah, if the rebuild is going to work, the Twins are going to need Abel and Zebby. With Abel, maybe he'll imrpove as the weather gets better - but I think the early MO for him is to pitch well at AAA and struggle in the majors. As for Zebby, no clue what's going on there. He should be dominating AAA at this point.

The Joe Ryan Experience remains pretty entertaining...but, one thing with Joe is, when something goes wrong - whether an error like Lee's or a small strike zone, he can sometimes let it snow ball.

The attendance will be a talking point all season long because it is a direct result of the Pohlad's tearing down the roster last season. If this team starts to play winning baseball, then the narrative will change. But until then, the empty seats will remain front and center...as they should be, IYAM.

I wish the Twins could 'borrow' a few of the runs scored on Monday night. Skubal is flat out nasty and while Taj has pitched really well thus far, this is going to be a challenge.

Buck has missed a lot of time over the course of his career so I guess one could argue he has less mileage than your 'typical' 10-year player but the injuries add up and probably take more of a toll than if he had been healthy and playing in ~150 games a year. I would be mildly surprised if he played beyond 2028 but what do I know...

I'd love to see Buck play his entire career in Minnesota. But, loyalty is a two way street. Everyone has a breaking point. If ownership continues on the current path and it becomes more obvious that Buxton is going to finish his career on a 70 win team, all bets are off, IMHO.
