  1. We'll see. Still a lot of names that were all but definitely going to be traded. Whether or not to the Twins - remains to be seen.
  2. Agreed. He hasn't been great this year but he's been stingy in the past and he'd be a clear upgrade from Moran. I'm presuming (hoping) the Twins have a few things in the works...
  3. D-backs send Chafin to the Brewers.
  4. Been a relatively quiet deadline so far. Will there be a flurry of deals over the next 2.5 hours?
  5. Tigers close to trading Lorenzen to the Phillies.
  6. This is the last update I could find - as of July 5th... Gordon is no longer wearing a boot or a cast on his fractured right tibia, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. Gordon is able to walk around normally now but has not been cleared to start running, nor is he sure about a potential timetable for a return. The utility player has been sidelined since mid-May.
  7. DFA is the way to go. Maybe if they acquire a bat (or two) today, they'll need to DFA Gallo to open up a roster spot?
  8. Might not mean anything but Wallner, Kepler and Gallo are in the line-up for tonight's game.
  9. Also, Cuddyer was a sneaky good athlete. He could play two corner OF positions as well as 1B, 3B and even 2B. No way could Wallner do that.
  10. Agreed on Wallner. He 'could' be a masher but he's just as likely to be a left-handed hitter with a huge hole in his bat and marginal defense in the field. The prospect label could be shed really quickly. I don't think he factors into their long-term plans so the time is now.
  11. I meant in regards to trades. The Pohlad's aren't the issue. At all. I was referring to last year's trade deadline. Was it enough for them to tell the front office to stand down and keep the status quo?
  12. If the Pohlad's haven't handcuffed the front office from making moves - and honestly, if they did, no one should be upset after last year - I expect them to make 2-3 trades. Their jobs depend on it. They don't win the division in 2023 and people are going to be or at least should be fired.
  13. 6 games left with the Guardians. Does anyone have confidence in the Twins winning more than 2 of those games? The Rocco factor looms large.
  14. If its any consolation, the Yankees will probably wind up trading that cheap, controllable legitimate prospect this winter.
  15. Would be happy with Pham and TWO bullpen arms. Not confident in either Thielbar or Stewart staying healthy and the Twins need more than just Duran and Jax at the end of games. As for Pham, dude's a gamer. Not afraid of the moment.
  16. Bader had some moments for the Yankees last October. He seems to be one of those guys that plays better in big spots. Similar to Pham.
  17. There's a drop off but from what I've seen from Gray of late, I don't think the drop off is steep enough to cost the Twins the division - especially if they get MLB talent in return for Gray and/or make other moves.
  18. I am not a big Sonny Gray fan and he's been regressing since April. If the Twins can get value, I'd roll the dice with Keuchel.
  19. Fair and I can't really argue with anything you said. I'm firmly in the camp though that neither Larnach nor Wallner will be players you can win with and they should be shopped while it is still reasonable to call them 'prospects'.
  20. Not to spam this thread with another post - but the question I have - how much autonomy does the FO have right now? If they basically have carte blanche to make moves, then I think they'll be somewhat aggressive because failing to win the division in 2023 might be a ticket out of town. If the Pohlad's are gun shy after last year's debacle at the deadline, then I think we marginal tweaks with a bullpen arm - not necessarily high leverage - and a RH bat.
  21. I'm not sure on Larnach, or even Wallner. The sample size on Larnach is growing and its approaching the realm of, he is who he is. And for Wallner, he seems like he's a player out of the 1980s. Doesn't have elite athleticism and can hit the ball a mile and also strike out 200 times in a season. I don't see either guy being a player that will help the Twins win in 2023 or 2024.
  22. I'd get Tommy Pham. Has always hit well in the post-season and if the Twins get there, they need to have some guys that aren't afraid of the moment.
  23. I'd be totally fine with trading Sonny Gray. Everyone moves up a spot in the rotation and the 5th spot goes to either Keuchel or Varland. I don't think there's much of a drop-off.
