  1. If Buxton was capable of playing the outfield, maybe the Twins sign Turner instead of Gallo.
  2. Sad but true. Time for Buxton to look at himself in the mirror and decide what kind of player he wants to be.
  3. And that's being kind...
  4. Oh, no doubt - the roster construction hasn't done Rocco any favors but his in-game decisions continue to be head scratchers and he's a huge reason this team is bad in 1 & 2 run games.
  5. Twins' pitching has shown in this series that it is good enough to win games in October against elite teams. It's a shame that it will go to waste and result in a 77 win season and in third place behind Cleveland and either Chicago or Detroit.
  6. Buxton to me is more of a front office issue than Rocco. Falvey and Levine are in their owns heads with it and in turn, Buxton's in his head. If Buxton isn't capable of playing in the outfield, then put him on the IL for however long it takes for him to either get right mentally or get physically. He's a net negative right now and the front office is allowing it.
  7. Can't get doubled off there, you just can't. Castro's been good for the Twins this season but that's an incredibly stupid mistake.
  8. More fundamentals from the Twins!
  9. If managerial greatness was measured by the number of blank, empty stares in the dugout, Rocco would already be in Canton...
  10. Have to earn that $10MM...
  11. With even a mediocre hitting team, Twins are around 10 games over .500 with 6+ game lead right now. Sigh...
  12. Take away Joe Ryan's first inning and the pitching has been stingy against one of the best line-ups (if not the best) in baseball. Makes the futility at the plate all the more infuriating.
  13. The pitch Lewis struck out on - was almost the identical pitch he fouled off right before it. Farmer's clueless right now. Guy's confidence is shot. He could use a stint on the bench.
  14. Popkins is going to get fired soon...right?!?
  15. Yeah, thought his last start in Detroit was smoke & mirrors but he's been tough today. A shame that the first run was the only one the Braves needed.
  16. Props to Kenta. Battling against an elite line-up.
  17. Braves going to get to Kenta here and put this game on ice.
  18. If they don't fire Popkins after this road trip...
  19. Maeda battling against a loaded line-up and the offense can't do squat for him. I said this before, when you're a pitcher taking the mound and you know that 1-2 runs means a loss, it has to be quite the mind f***.
  20. Considering their record in one run games, there's nothing wrong with getting the 'easy' runs on the board. They have squandered so many opportunities this year.
  21. Popkins graduated from St. Augustine High School in San Diego, California where he was named first team eastern league in 2007 and 2008. He was Eastern league player of the year in 2008. Popkins graduated from the University of California, Davis, where he played college baseball for the UC Davis Aggies. He was named All Big West First Team for two years. After going undrafted out of college, Popkins signed with the St. Louis Cardinals, and made the post season all star team in Advanced A in the Florida State league for the Palm Beach Cardinals in 2013. He reached Double A in 2014.[1] He played in independent league baseball with the Washington Wild Things, hitting 35 home runs over two seasons. He retired as an active player in 2017.[2] In 2019, the Dodgers named Popkins as a hitting coach for the Arizona Dodgers of the Arizona League.[3] In 2021, he coached for the Great Lakes Loons.[4] After the 2021 season, the Minnesota Twins hired Popkins to be their hitting coach.[2][5]
  22. Based on his resume and experience, Popkins being the hitting coach at St. Paul would be a reach.
  23. Leadoff double and another goose egg. This is maddening.
  24. Through last night, the Twins have struck out 824 times are batting .232. FIRE POPKINS
