    6 games left with the Guardians. Does anyone have confidence in the Twins winning more than 2 of those games? The Rocco factor looms large.

    If its any consolation, the Yankees will probably wind up trading that cheap, controllable legitimate prospect this winter.

    Would be happy with Pham and TWO bullpen arms. Not confident in either Thielbar or Stewart staying healthy and the Twins need more than just Duran and Jax at the end of games. As for Pham, dude's a gamer. Not afraid of the moment.

    Bader had some moments for the Yankees last October. He seems to be one of those guys that plays better in big spots. Similar to Pham.

    There's a drop off but from what I've seen from Gray of late, I don't think the drop off is steep enough to cost the Twins the division - especially if they get MLB talent in return for Gray and/or make other moves.

    I am not a big Sonny Gray fan and he's been regressing since April. If the Twins can get value, I'd roll the dice with Keuchel.

    Fair and I can't really argue with anything you said. I'm firmly in the camp though that neither Larnach nor Wallner will be players you can win with and they should be shopped while it is still reasonable to call them 'prospects'.

    Not to spam this thread with another post - but the question I have - how much autonomy does the FO have right now? If they basically have carte blanche to make moves, then I think they'll be somewhat aggressive because failing to win the division in 2023 might be a ticket out of town. If the Pohlad's are gun shy after last year's debacle at the deadline, then I think we marginal tweaks with a bullpen arm - not necessarily high leverage - and a RH bat.

    I'm not sure on Larnach, or even Wallner. The sample size on Larnach is growing and its approaching the realm of, he is who he is. And for Wallner, he seems like he's a player out of the 1980s. Doesn't have elite athleticism and can hit the ball a mile and also strike out 200 times in a season. I don't see either guy being a player that will help the Twins win in 2023 or 2024.

    I'd get Tommy Pham. Has always hit well in the post-season and if the Twins get there, they need to have some guys that aren't afraid of the moment.

    I'd be totally fine with trading Sonny Gray. Everyone moves up a spot in the rotation and the 5th spot goes to either Keuchel or Varland. I don't think there's much of a drop-off.

    I could see some team liking the idea of Gallo enough to take a flier, but I would be surprised if that flier involved anything more than a AA lottery ticket, i.e., prospect.

    Problem with Soto is that he's a free agent in 2024 and there's no way the Twins could re-sign him. Gutting the system for 1.5 years of Soto - meh, not really feeling it.

    I'm on the fence with Gray. He seems to have regressed over the course of the season and I trust him less than Lopez, Ryan, Ober and even Maeda. With that said, I trust Gray a lot more than any internal options to backfill his spot in the rotation and unless the Twins are brining back an established starting pitcher under team control beyond 2023, I don't see why they would make a trade.

    Right before he went on the IL, Lopez imploded in a game. His body language and facial expressions were very strange. Then he caught a pop-up right off the pitcher's mound and went running into the dug-out and tunnel with a huge smile on his face. Not sure what the deal is with him and I hope whatever it is, he can work through and get his career back on track. But at this point, something's certainly off and it might be taxing for the entire team. It was best to move on. Twins were lucky to even get someone like Floro.

    White Sox are such an odd team. They're in a big market but act more like the Rays. Biggest K they ever handed out was the $75M to Benintendi. What do they do with Tim Anderson? He has the club option for 2024 but they're not going to give him a long-term deal and they're not going to contend next season - so why keep him?

    Kepler's a fixture. For better or worse. That option in 2024 looks pretty cost effective when you consider what guys like Gallo and Pollack signed for this off-season.

    I'm not all that enamored with Wallner as of yet. Seems like he projects to being a strike-out prone hitter and a shaky outfielder. If he proves me wrong, I'd be elated. I just don't see much upside and I'd be curious to see what the trade market is for him.

    What's the general consensus on Winder? I thought he pitched pretty well last year and would be someone that the Twins would be able to count on as the 4/5 starter in 2024 - Lopez, Ryan, Ober, Paddack, Winder - but the shoulder troubles might prevent him from being a mainstay in the rotation. Twins desperately need a long-relief arm that is better than the likes of Sands and De Leon. Could Winder be that guy?

    Not to mention, I think Candelario will wind up being a reasonably hot commodity over the next couple of days and one that the Twins would be foolish to overpay for.

    When the Twins traded for Lopez last year - what was the mood like in here? At least from what I saw from some of the talking heads, i.e., ESPN and MLBN, the trade had pretty positive reviews. This front office has botched trades. To be absolutely sure. But, at the time, I don't think this trade fell into that category. Hindsight is always 20/20. As for this trade, meh. One problem dealt for another. Maybe Maki can get something out of Florio. If not, oh well. Twins weren't getting anything out of Lopez either and no team would trade for him if the return back to the Twins was more than a Florio type player.

    I'll be happy when both Moran and Pagan are no longer on the roster or at least pitching only in mop up duty. Not a fan of either and yeah, Moran sucked last night too. I'm not letting him off the hook. Just pointing out that Pagan can't be trusted in a big spot despite some decent performances prior to yesterday.

    Why are people so quick to trade Kepler? He's been the Twins' best hitter since the ASB. Yes, not a big sample size, but nonetheless....
