Rocco's been the Twins' manager since 2019. 6 years is a long time in professional sports and managers / head coaches usually reach their shelf life after 5 years. The 2019 season was a fluke. The Bomba Squad. We won't see that kind of Twins' offense again anytime soon. 2020 was also a fluke because of the pandemic but the White Sox lost the division more than the Twins won it. Epic collapse from the pale hose. 2021 was a cluster. 2022 was another cluster that saw the team finish 10 games over the month of the season. Built-in excuse though - 'injuries'. 2023 saw the Twins make the playoffs thanks to being in a weak division. He's not the answer. Hasn't been the answer. He needs to go. -
Tigers will go 7-2... Twins will go 4-5... It's over.

At this point, he's just jumping the shark. He has zero charisma or personality. How often do they pan to the dugout and he either has his head down, or staring into space, or better yet, sitting behind 3-4 other people not even really watching the game... There's nothing he can say or do to jumpstart this thing. Players aren't stupid. They see it everyday.

I remember he wrote some really mean stuff on the white board and the team responded - with a complete beatdown at the hands of the mighty Angels. They quit on Rocco a while back.

You're right. It shouldn't. But the penny pinchers aren't too likely to buy-out the last year of the contracts on top of paying a new front office and manager.

Oh, for sure. I just don't think it is that hard to get the Twins to do those things. A manager with a pulse is a good start.

Hard for me to say far better. If they were far better, it wouldn't be a bunch of 1 run games. The Twins don't do anything right.

This series shows me that the Guards aren't 'that' much better than the Twins. The gap between the two teams is pretty thin. One team is well-managed and executes. The other does not. Some new blood in the dugout next spring and the script could flip.

The moment Cleveland tied it, it felt like the Twins were down by 10 runs.

On the plus side, the losses don't really even bother me anymore. This team expects to lose and they play like it.
