You're right. It shouldn't. But the penny pinchers aren't too likely to buy-out the last year of the contracts on top of paying a new front office and manager.
This series shows me that the Guards aren't 'that' much better than the Twins. The gap between the two teams is pretty thin. One team is well-managed and executes. The other does not. Some new blood in the dugout next spring and the script could flip.
