  1. Steer and Encarnacion...it wasn't trading them that was the issue. It was what they were traded for. Both of them hit the Reds roster in 2022, IIRC and did well for themselves. They were major league ready. You better not miss on a trade like that and the Twins did. But oh, Mahle had a year of team control!
  2. Correa needs to find his white horse quickly. He's the only guy on this roster who is capable of dragging this team across the finish line.
  3. Who hits the grand slam in the 9th...
  4. The season went to hell on that Sunday in Texas.
  5. Twins are overmatched by a sub .500 team. Completely overmatched.
  6. I know. I tend to toss blame around and I'm not doing it tonight. Speaking for myself.
  7. I don't even care about the blame game at this point. This is an epic fail all the way around.
  8. You just can't lose games like this in the middle of a wild card race.
  9. If the Astros' players were relaying their own signs to their opponents so they could hurry with their off-season vacations, I suspect most of that roster would be unemployed right now - regardless of how good they are - Correa included. This is apples and oranges.
  10. Twins need to take care of business tonight. Have to bank wins against the Reds and Marlins.
  11. This is a bizarre story. WTH was he thinking? If he wanted the season to end, better off claiming an injury or fatigue. But to tip off the opposing team? Potentially cost himself his entire career for the sake of a few days off.
  12. Weird article in the sense that other players were written about and given a built-in excuse - they were tired or running on fumes. Yet, the rookie is 'struggling badly'. I don't think he's struggling all that much when you consider he's a rookie who was playing injured for a period of time - and when he came back, the entire line-up and team were scuffling - very easy for young players to get caught in the wash.
  13. Question re Keirsey... His batting stance is very unusual, or least it looks that way. I wonder if the Twins have tried to make any adjustments to it. He didn't have issues in AAA but I could see him struggling to catch up to anything that's off the plate.
  14. Even if Buxton isn't at 100%, just having him in the line-up provides a much needed boost. Buxton and Correa make the engine go. Hopefully Correa's back soon. As for Martin...I still think he's going to be a serviceable MLB player but right now, being 'versatile' is just a word for defensive liability. Keeping Keirsey is the right move.
  15. Duran is human this season and that's played a part in the Twins not catching Cleveland. Win is a win. Just hope he doesn't have any meltdowns in Cleveland or Boston next week.
  16. Agreed. I think Festa has good enough stuff. Needs to refine a few things. Zebby doesn't seem to be it. Everything thrown right down the middle.
  17. The fact that Zebby is pitching every 5th day in the middle of a wildcard race....woof. Not on Rocco either. This is on the Pohlads. Ownership malpractice.
