  1. They’re currently paying Baldelli and Toby Gardenhire. Give Toby the reigns and give Rocco the pink slip. Toby has a better idea of what this group can do because he’s seen them succeed. It worked with Kelly in the’80’s to have him manage the group he coached in the minors. At this point, what do you lose?
  2. Prior to tonight’s game, Wallner has faced Nelson twice and has a home run and a single. Baldelli has a tough choice to make; bat him second, third, fourth? Nah! Let’s put him on the bench and start “I’m Good for an Outman.” These players have no idea day-to-day where they stand with the manager or what their role is…
  3. New Twins Song (same tune) Not gonna win Twins, They’re not gonna score. So sad the Pohlads, Don’t care anymore. Paired with a Baldelli Who cannot lead the way. Cheer for the missing, Traded Twins today.
  4. I am sincerely hoping that Wallner is on a flight tomorrow morning. This current lineup is full of singles hitters and questionable defenders. At least Wallner has an arm for those of you who question his capabilities in the field.
  5. It’s hard for me to be excited about this team because of Rocco. He’s a platoon guy until it comes to substituting lefty batters vs. right handed relievers. Because he was a righty batter, I think he has a blind spot for subbing in for righties when the opposing team brings in a bullpen right hander. On the other hand, if I’m a lefty batter on this team, I would be looking over my shoulder waiting for the hook when a lefty reliever takes the mound. I saw it in the playoffs last year when Rocco used Buxton as a pinch hitter to face a righty and have him essentially end the season. I think a large part of Tom Kelly’s success was that everyone on his roster knew what their role was. I think it’s the opposite with Rocco. When the Twins enter the playoffs, Rocco mounts his garbage can lid sized panic button on the back wall of the dugout and uses it often.
  6. Don’t like the way he pulls out the 3’ diameter panic button in the playoffs and plays ineffective hunches that go against everything he’s done in the regular season. He played predominantly righty batters against righty pitchers, on a hunch, against Houston the last couple of games. But during the regular season, he’d pull starters after one at bat if opposing teams switched from righty to southpaw in the third inning. He would burn through half of his bench and have zero options at the end of the game. I’m guessing that when batters are in the hole, they’re looking over their shoulders waiting for Baldelli to yank them.
  7. Not sure why everyone missed the HUGE hitch in his swing and that he casted his bat. Slow, long swing! Go look at the home runs he hit in Korea and he starts his swing very early. He had to commit his swing very early against MLB pitching and they knew to get him to chase fastballs and eat him up with off speed and sliders.
