None of those guys are making the team out of Fort Myers. So you keep Boshers until they're ready. And frankly, if Boshers pitches like he did last year again next year, he has trade value. Maybe more than Abad, due to years of control. As I noted, Boshers outpitched guys who got multi-year deals for lots of cash -- relative to value -- so there's a reason to keep him, even if it's just to flip him.

Molitor agrees. Has said on multiple occasions this month that he doesn't necessarily think September will dictate how good Sano can be at third base, but that they really would like to have him out there. That was before this latest setback, however. -

They are. Or at least were before the injury. Gene Glynn hits grounders to him and Polanco all the time. -
Wrote an article for Cold Omaha on what I think the rest of the season should look like since the Twins are almost certainly going to lose 100 games. It actually makes sense for Grossman to hit there against lefties. Like, that's actually an innovative, smart thing for a manager to do -- especially if Mauer is out. I don't love Suzuki at DH or batting fifth, but against lefties he at least has a pulse. I still think I'd find ways to put Max Kepler out there to get better against lefties, but day-to-day lineups are hard to critique because you don't know if a player needs a mental break, or a physical break. Like for instance, Kepler has like a .500 OPS since Sept. 1. That's a guy screaming for a mental break. And beyond that, it's not like he's leaving that many studs on the bench. The offense right now is kind of a skeleton crew.

There's no question he's not up to speed, and they're terrible so I agree. But still....I think some of the previous hand-wringing was a bit hasty. I want him to do well, as he's a great dude. But there's enough other stuff to get after the Twins on as opposed to this -- at least for now.

My other question is can you score it as him moving up on the throw, but not assess an error?

Oh I'm definitely not saying he'd be safe, but it wasn't because of Buxton's throw. Hell, if it was dodgeball rules Buxton could have pegged him (lol)

Based on where Morales is standing when the ball comes in, I feel like you could give him a double. I certainly am not on the list to pinch hit for official scorers, though.

Thanks. My goal is to do something different than the Strib-PPress folks. They do a great job, and if I can't beat them at their own game, I might as well find my own, right?
