  1. Also: Here's the full scope of questions he answered earlier this week: http://coldomaha.com/2016/twins/minnesota-twins-interim-gm-rob-antony-addresses-media-at-target-field-for-first-time-in-new-role/
  2. There's lots of layers to this crucial trade deadline for interim GM Rob Antony. Not only does he have to make moves to benefit the team into the future, but he's got to think about his own future as well. So like I usually do, I wrote about it: http://www.todaysknuckleball.com/al/minnesota-twins/rob-antony-tries-make-mark-twins/ Discussion greatly appreciated
  3. The QO may not exist after this year anyway. But my point is, he's young enough that he's going to (possibly) bank on a multi-year deal over one year of nice salary. It's hard to say for sure, and also banking on the unlikely repeating of this year. All I'm saying is it's part of the equation. If you do/don't move Nunez this year, you'd better have a plan.
  4. Nunez is a free agent after next year is my point.
  5. (of course, if Nunez plays like he has this year again next year, you could hit him with the QO -- if it still exists)
  6. Trading Dozier and keeping Nunez opens two middle infield holes after next season. And while you'd like to hope your future middle infield is Polanco-Gordon, I'm not sure you can bank on that.
  7. Latest episode with Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press. We talked almost exclusively on Terry Ryan's dismissal. https://t.co/JCZRnLrqN3
  8. Mike Berardino (Pioneer Press) joins Brandon Warne and Tom Schreier to discuss the Minnesota Twins decision to relieve Terry Ryan of his duties and who should replace him. http://coldomaha.com/2016/twins/midwest-swing-mike-berardino-joins-to-discuss-terry-ryans-firing/
  9. 4.16 FIP and very low walk rate.
  10. I suspect there'll be one team out there who might see Nolasco's peripherals and think.....maaaaybe. But he is who he is at this point. If the Twins eat a little cash I think he can move.
  11. Maybe. But I think there'll be a market for Nolasco as a back-end line mover and I just don't see how Plouffe and Sano can co-exist unless they DH Sano and keep Park down for the rest of the season.
  12. I wrote an article on some fits I see for potential Twins trade chips: https://t.co/XJ3M090mt4 As always, discussion is appreciated.
  13. I also wrote about this team's second half storylines like Jeremy did. Here are mine: http://www.todaysknuckleball.com/al/minnesota-twins/twins-second-half-storylines-to-watch-for/
  14. I don't have any idea why the Twins would want to do that deal.
  15. I'd aim higher. Or at least.....different.
  16. If they hire a new GM, all bets are off, IMO
  17. Here's my look at the storylines that drove an ugly first half for the Twins: http://www.todaysknuckleball.com/al/minnesota-twins/reviewing-first-half-storylines-twins/ As always, comments and discussion widely welcomed.
  18. Guys: thinking of updating this on either a bi-monthly or monthly basis. Let me know what you think sounds best.
  19. Generally speaking it's just like power rankings are for MLB teams. Part how are things going now, and part how they've been going lately and a little of how the season has gone as well.
  20. Took a stab at power rankings for the 25-man roster. Would like to hear your thoughts. Please feel free to share: https://t.co/UJAHnsFGdU

  24. I guess I don't know why that matters? No two players are the same.
  25. He had an OPS against of over 1100 and an ERA of over 10.00. I think it was pretty clear another start would not have gone well.
