  1. Let's just hope the Twins don't make Arrieta look like an All-Star like they did in the opener last year. Good start so far, Twins. I really am pulling for Hendriks to figure it out this year. I think we have a pretty good idea of what the first three pitchers are going to give us this year, but Hendriks is the wild card in the rotation.
  2. Unfortunately, you are probably correct.
  3. Talking to coworker today and he was commenting how bad Arencibia looks behind the plate for Toronto. Listening to Gladden in the car he says, "Arencibia's glove is on the DL..." I got a good chuckle out of that one.
  4. The guy that started for the Twins today is clearly worth 2yrs/$10M. The question is how often do we get to see that pitcher this year?
  5. I can't believe nobody has posted this: [video=youtube;S9StStOsFpg]
  6. There are so many ways to go with this, many already stated. Baseball was the only sport my parents ever took me to as a kid and was the sport I grew up loving. I remember avidly watching 50-60 games a summer on a 12" B&W TV growing up, only because they didn't show all of the games back then. I couldn't wait to watch This Week in Baseball every Saturday. The theme song is my cell phone ringer. Baseball is a game of strategy, a thinking man's sport. It's by far the most family friendly game both in pace and the attitude of the fans. There is no way my kids go to a Vikings game until they are in high school.
  7. I concur. My guess is .350 OBP/.725 - .750 OPS.
  8. I hate this day off in the middle of the first series. Put it at the end as a travel day. I want to watch again tonight
  9. I think she's done a good job during post game for the Wild, so I'd blame weather and first game.
  10. Damn, I hope they cut him off at 100 pitches.
  11. Looks like Verlander would rather face the Hammer.
  12. Tough first game matchup for Hicks. welcome to the bigs kid!
  13. Twins could have argued interference there. Can't remember who the runner was, but he was inside the line and Vance had to wait as he ran over the ball. I'd like to see it again, but if Worley had been there first and fielded it I believe you have offensive interference.
  14. That was my thought. All Blyleven could do is criticize Florimon, yet Mauer's throw was offline. If it's over the base he's out.
  15. Really enjoyed the article. I made it to two Twins games at the Met. I'm still mad that the first one, in 1978, was on a Sunday. Carew sat that game for Craig Kusick.
  16. I was listening to Peliserro on 1500 this morning and he said that Gardy is planning on hitting Mauer #2. If true, we have some progress folks.
  17. I agree if the Twins can make some progress this season. I guess my number one critique this season for Gardy will be how he handles the young guys. That should determine whether he stays since that will be a big part of his job the next few seasons.
  18. So, not knowing what poutine was, I had to Google it. Yuck! I hope I am not offending our Canadian friends.
  19. Well, not very good. DeVries was taken out after three innings today due to a sore right forearm. Maybe Robertson makes it past Diamond coming off the DL.
  20. I think Mauer is slated for 110-115 at catcher this year (at least I hope he is). I'm not sure Gardy will want to go through more than 50 with Doumit behind the dish.
