  1. I've heard Brown could be a late-2nd or 3rd round pick, probably just outside of the Top 22. That's not to say that he's not someone that the Twins could consider.
  2. even if they go catcher or outfielder at #2, the Twins could still get 2-3 of these guys, so it's wonderful work Thrylos is doing!
  3. Do you bring up... slama and his 0.47 ERA and a strikeout and a half per inning... Or Guerra who has been tremendous, or Oliveros... Plenty of options.
  4. On Sunday, Lew Ford went 3-5 with two doubles for Norfolk. He's now 6-12 with two walks in three games so far.
  5. Between AA and AAA, he now has 15.1 consecutive scoreless innings.
  6. Yeah, not a good day... it's weird because almost every team (the good and the bad) will lose 3-4 games like this a season (and win 3-4 a season too)... just strange that the Twins and their affiliates all chose the same day to be blown out.
  7. Sending him to Rochester makes no sense for a 35-36 year old. Marquis has had too solid of a career for too long to do that to him. DFA is the only way. Hendriks is the Red Wings best starter, but I think he should get more than 3-4 starts down there. It's all about what's best long term, and that's Hendriks being used/moved wisely. It's also about seeing what you have in the likes of DeVries/Walters (and Slama, etc.).
  8. Normally I'd chuckle, but im good with anyone who hits 94 with a fastball.
  9. I'd keep Duensing and Swarzak in the bullpen... DFA Marquis... add Cole DeVries to the 40 man roster and call him up to start.

  11. One of the great things about Twins Daily is that everyone can start up their own Blog. As we have pointed out, the best of the best can be promoted to the front page. Also, we can promote series as well. Over the last week to ten days, frequent Twins Daily contributor Thrylos has been working on a tremendous series called Profiles of the Top 22 Pitchers in the 2012 MLB Draft. It's a great series in which we can learn more about future, potential Minnesota Twins. A few of them will be considered for the #2 overall pick. But the Twins have six picks in the top 100, so it's possible that the Twins use some of their extra picks on these guys too. Here are the profiles so far: [PRBREAK][/PRBREAK] RJ Alvarez Mark Appel Jake Barrett Chris Beck Ryan Burr Zach Eflin Max Fried Kevin Gausman Lucas Giolito Andrew Heaney Brian Johnson Based on the series title, Thrylos is about half-way through his series. Be sure to frequent the Twins Daily Blog page to see the rest of the profiles as they are posted. For those interested, bkucko, also has a near-daily blog entry that gives the player and pitcher of the day. Within it, he also shares a document that shows this information for the Twins and their affiliates for the full season.

  13. This is not unusual at all... I remember Maddux and Glaving were notoriously 'normal' in the 1st inning and with most good pitchers you hear, "Better get him early cuz you won't get him once he gets going."
  14. That's why the National League game is so much more thought-provoking. Managers can have some affect on the game through their decisions. In the AL, put in the lineup and see what happens. The NL is so much more of a thinkers game to watch. Right now, the AL is tons better than the NL... but it is a different game.
  15. Carroll has been tremendous for the Twins. We'd all like a little more batting avreage, but every other facet of his game has been as expected. To be honest, his defense is far better than I ever would have guessed.
  16. Catchers need days of. Yes, I understand that he is able to play other positions, but he needs days off. It's like playing Morneau every single day after some wrist surgery until his wrist is so sore that he needs to go on the DL and miss two weeks. Catchers need days off or they'll get weeks off eventually.
  17. Twins Lineup: Denard Span CF Ben Revere RF Josh Willingham LF Justin Morneau 1B Brian Dozier SS Alexi Casilla 2B Drew Butera C Jamey Carroll 3B Carl Pavano SP Brewers Lineup Corey Hart RF Nyger Morgan CF Ryan Braun LF Aramis Ramirez 3B Jonathan Lucroy C Rickie Weeks 2B Tyler Green 1B Edwin Maysonet SS Yovani Gallardo SP
  18. My thoughts today would be: 1.) Zunino, 2.) Gausman, 3.) Buxton, 4.) Appel, 5.) Correa, 6.) Zimmer, 7.) Giolito... Of course, since I'm just reading about these guys, I definitely won't pretend to know what the tie-breakers are between them, and frankly, I'll be excited about any of these guys when the TWins pick them. I'm hoping they'd take Gausman, I guess...
  19. I'm always good with wins since all teams will win 60 games. Also, if you're in the top 3-5 picks, it's all about the same since the draft is a little more of a crap shoot, especially compared to other sports.
  20. Yup, he's been quite good in his three Red Wings outings.
  21. Or, he's hitting .176 (6-37) in his last 10 games. Rosario has been hitting about .160 over his last 10 games too, yet before last night, the Snappers had won 6 in a row and 8 out of 9.
  22. Miguel Sano got another night off tonight in Beloit. It was the second straight Friday that he didn't play. He did pop out in a pinch-hitting spot in tonight's game. In his last ten games, he is now 6-34 (.176). However, he has struck out just six times in those 38 plate appearances (4 walks). I get people's wish for him to get rushed, but he just turned 19... he's going to have streaks like this.
