  1. Later in his answer, he says he really likes Dozier and what he brings to the field and to the team. He definitely believes in him, and has seen some improvements of late. He said there is no surprised that Dozier, like most rookies, struggle when he has come up.
  2. These are just numbers, so take them for what they are: HR/Game at Target Field according to ESPN's Hit Tracker: 2010 - 1.43 2011 - 1.56 2012 - 2.09 So, clearly there are more homers... but, affects could be: 1.) The Willingham Factor - 17 of his 29 are at home... As Parker said last offseason, his swing and pull-tendencies make him ideal for the ballpark. 2.) The Plouffe Hot Streak - 12 of his 19 homers are at home... 3.) The Kubel Canyon - just 12 of his 33 homers from 2010 and 2011 were at Target Field. He hated it and that's why he never considered coming back here. How many fly outs did he have to that RCF gap? Of course, Thome hit many out there. Tosoni hit at least two out there too.
  3. Mijares, like JC Romero, had some very good seasons with the Twins. For the Giants to go far in the playoffs, it is all dependent upon Tim Lincecum.
  4. 127-115 isn't much of a different (
  5. Strange statement... They will spend the $2.9million. It's not like there was a date that passed already or something.
  6. 20% more than 162 would put him just north of 200 innings. My guess is that once he gets to 200, they'll shut him down, or at least move him to the bullpen and be quite cautious.
  7. #2 on this week's Baseball America Prospect Hot Sheet: http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/prospect-hot-sheet/2012/2613883.html
  8. What's on Second. I don't know's on Third.
  9. Craig Malveaux wrote a really good article on the Twins Cole De Vries who contemplated retirement several times throughout his minor league career. http://www.startribune.com/sports/twins/165665686.html?refer=y
  10. I believe that is correct!
  11. That might be some lofty and probably a little unrealistic expectations... I wouldn't 'expect' more than 600 HR for Rosario in his big league career!
  12. Yeah, I couldn't find the $ amount on Guyer. They may be up to $2.9 already.
  13. Teams can spend up to $2.9 million. They can also sign up to 6 guys at $50,000 that don't count under the $2.9 million. So, where are the Twins at: Minier - $1.4 Million Thorpe - $0.5 Million Hu - $0.22 Million That's $2.12 Million, and I'm sure i'm missing some.
  14. #Access!
  15. This has been the plan all along, and it's amazing they have been able to stick to it. To this point, no setbacks. Hopefully that continues.
  16. Great point! Those two games definitely affect that 'run support' average.
  17. 18 year old RH. sits upper 80s, but he's been clocked as high as 94. Terrific changeup. Good control. The Twins have done really well in Taiwan the last couple of years. Hung-yi Chen and Kuo-Hua Lo both have shown a lot in the GCL. Obviously a long way to go, but these are good, live arms!
  18. I can see Sano and/or Rosario playing in FM and NB next year. Obviously they would have to play well in the first half to move up in the second half. Both could, and frankly, they wouldn't be lesser prospects if they spent the whole 2013 season in FM. Defensively, I think they both did OK when I watched. Clearly more room for improvement, for sure, but I thought that, especially Sano, looked much better than two months ago. I saw enough to keep them there longer.
  19. I watched four Snappers games in Beloit last weekend. So yes, it's a small sample size. However, I definitely did not see pitchers trying to pitch around Sano. They were throwing him strikes. I think he walked once in those games and it was a long at bat. He saw quite a few curveball/sliders. He was generally able to lay off those down and away, and he just missed some in the strike zone. I think having Rosario in front of him, and especially having Vargas behind him should help as well. Sano is where he should be.
  20. I think it's dumb... It's not like he was hitting or fielding great at AA. That said, the O's are a horrible baseball team that somehow finds itself still competing in the AL East... or at least for a wild card.
  21. That'll always be an issue until it's done... But again, there are other Dominicans on these other teams to help.
  22. Patrick Reusse's Star Tribune article: http://www.startribune.com/sports/twins/165529976.html?refer=y
  23. I'd leave Kepler right where he is until at least after the E-Town playoffs. He's still be able to play in the Midwest League playoffs. Twins did that with Deibinson Romero and Rene Tosoni last time the Snappers made the playoffs. Kepler is putting up encouraging numbers, but he's so young and so raw, and it's not like he's putting up Arcia, Rosario or even Sano numbers in E-Town.
  24. He's going to strikeout a ton, but man, can he hit the ball a long way! Very intriguing power.
