1. Tweet from Ken Rosenthal: "#Braves, who still need leadoff hitter, had discussed idea of signing Upton AND trading for Span. But talks with #Twins failed to progress." Assumption, the Twins asked for one of the better Braves pitching prospects like Minor, Teheran, etc., and the Braves said no.
2. The Twins would have to get FOUR legit prospects for Mauer or three prospects and an MLB starter. Then, you could get Anibal Sanchez ($15 million) and another $8 million a year starter for the dollars. Or, you could get Edwin Jackson ($12 million) and another $11 million pitcher (or two $5.5 million pitchers).
3. I'm in agreement with those that anything over about $3-4 million for Feldman was too much, so this signing does nothing for me...
4. Myers was Baseball America's Minor League Player of the Year this year (admittedly much of it spent in the PCL). He's a top 10 prospect in baseball...Parmelee has never been anywhere near that class of prospect. Doesn't mean he can't be solid in the big leagues, but there's no questioning that Myers could bring back much, much more.
5. Fridays through Sundays through at least January... occasional games on Thursdays or Mondays, but rare.

7. For the first week of the Winter League updates, we will not be chronicling the Arizona Fall League. Worry not! We still have no fewer than five winter leagues in which Twins players or minor league players are participating. Frankly, this week’s update is lacking in terrific performances as we have seen in recent weeks. But there are certainly a few worth noticing. Here’s how players from the Twins system did during the week from November 19-25. [PRBREAK][/PRBREAK] VENEZUELAN WINTER LEAGUE Player of the Week – Deolis Guerra, RHP Guerra was the player of the week choice last week, and he will be my choice again this week. He pitched in the three games and covered 4.1 innings. He gave up no runs on no hits and walked none. He struckout four. Overall, Guerra has thrown 13 innings in 12 games. He had walked just two and struckout 15. Oswaldo Arcia – 4 Games, 2-15 (.133), 2B, HR, 0 BB, 4 K Brian Dozier – 5 Games. 4-18 (.222), 1 BB, 4 K Eduardo Escobar – 5 Games, 4-14 (.286), 2B, 2-HR, 6 RBI, 4 BB, 3 K (had one game in which he was 3-3 with a walk, two homers and six RBI) Darin Mastroianni – 6 Games, 7-25 (.280), 2B, 2 BB, 2 K, 3 SB (was 7-9 the first two games of the week) Josmil Pinto – 2 Games, 0-1 Edgar Ibarra – 3 Game, 1 Game Started, 2 innings, 5 hits, 6 earned runs, 1 walk, 3 strikeout. Shairon Martis – 1 Game Started, 3.0 innings, 5 earned runs, 6 hits, 0 walks, 1 strikeout. Angel Mata – 1 Game, 0.2 innings, 0 runs, one hit, 0 walks, one strikeout. Bruce Pugh – 2 Games, 1.1 innings, 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks, 1 strikeout. Dakota Watts – 3 Games, 4.2 innings, 5 hits, 3 earned runs, 3 walks, 1 strikeout. You have likely noticed that some young Venezuelan kids, like Yorman Landa or Angel Mata, may not pitch each week. However, they are likely playing in Liga Paralela. Josmil Pinto has moved back and forth between the rosters of the big club and it’s Parallel team. A player like Landa got a couple of innings with the big club, but as the offseason goes along, more veterans from Venezuela start playing and the young guys get moved down. It really runs just like a Major League team and its AAA affiliate. MEXICAN WINTER LEAGUE Player of the Week – Chris Colabello, 1B For the third straight week, my choice for player of the week in Mexico is Chris Colabello. On the week, he played in six games. He went 7-25 (.280) with a double and a home run. He walked twice and struckout eight times. Overall in Mexico, he has had 133 at bats in 36 games played. He is hitting .331/.396/.632 (1.028) with 10 doubles, 10 home runs and 27 RBI. Anthony Slama – 2 Games, 2 innings, 2 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks, 0 strikeouts. 1 save. Gonzalo Sanudo – 3 Games, 2.2 innings, 1 hit, 0 earned run, 1 walks, 1 strikeouts. DOMINICAN WINTER LEAGUE Player of the Week – Pedro Florimon, SS To say that the offensive game of Pedro Florimon in the Dominican this winter has been “streaky” might be kind, but it isn’t too far from accurate. He has had a couple of weeks where he had accumulated just one or two hits. This is the second week that he has been named the player of the week. This week, the shortstop went 7-14 (.500) in five games. He walked once and struckout three times. Overall, he is still hitting just .235/.330/.247 (.577) with just one double in 85 at bats. Miguel Sano – 1 Game, 0-1. Drew Butera – 2 Games, 0-6, walk. 1-18 (.056) in last eight games he’s played. Luis Perdomo – 3 Games, 2.1 innings, 1 run, 2 hits, 3 walks, 5 strikeouts. Samuel Deduno – 2 Games (1 GS), 4.2 innings, 0 runs, 4 hits, 2 walks, 6 strikeouts. PUERTO RICO WINTER LEAGUE Player of the Week – Not Applicable It wasn’t a great week for Twins players in Puerto Rico. I simply can’t pick any of the players as player of the week. Angel Morales – 3 Games, 1-7 (.143), 4 K Danny Ortiz – 4 Games, 0-11, 2 K Kennys Vargas – 2 Games, 1-7 (.143), 1 BB, 3 K Eddie Rosario – 2 Games, 0-6, 1 K Nelvin Fuentes – 1 Game, 1 inning, 0 runs, 0 hit, 1 walk, 0 strikeouts. AUSTRALIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE Player of the Week – Josh Hendricks, 1B Josh Hendricks spent the season with the Elizabethton Twins, and now the 21-year-old is playing for the Melbourne Aces. In the past week, he played in four games and went 5-14 (.357) with a double and 6 RBI. Overall, he’s played in 7 games, and is 7-21 (.333) with two doubles and a homer. Logan Wade – 2 Games, 2-7 (.286), 2 walks, 1 strikeout JD Williams – 4 Games, 2-17 (.118), 1 walk, 8 strikeout Jacob Younis – 2 Games, 2-8 (.250), 2B, 0 walks, 2 strikeouts Tim Atherton – 1 Game, 1 Win, 1.1 innings, 0 walks, 0 hits, 0 runs, 2 strikeouts Sam Gibbons – 1 Game Started, 4.2 innings, 10 hits, 3 walks, 4 earned runs, 0 strikeouts Josh Guyer – 1 Game, 2.1 innings, 2 hits, 1 walk, 0 runs, 2 strikeouts Tyler Herr – 2 Games, 2.1 innings, 1 hit, 0 walks, 0 runs, 0 strikeouts Feel free to discuss or ask any questions that you like. Also, feel free to pick a player of the week. Here were the nominees: Venezuela – Deolis Guerra Mexico – Chris Colabello Dominican – Pedro Florimon Puerto Rico – Not Applicable Australia – Josh Hendricks

9. Tosoni is a minor league free agent.
10. Great question, and like you said, an important question. Also, a very tough question... IF teams knew he was 100% healthy and his age, he could probably get a 4 year, $45 million contract. However, with the concussion concerns (hopefully somewhat alleviated now, but still always lingering), the wrist issues, and age, I can't imagine he would get huge contract. I want to guess that it would be just shy of whatever Adam LaRoche gets. To throw out a guess... how about 2 years and $16 million?
11. You forgot to show Gleeman's big backyard and all of his pimped-up rides!! I have been in the GleeManor driveway a couple of times, generally saying... "Aaron, think you can walk all the way into your house without falling over?"... but I've never been inside! That photo from the STrib was, I believe, in their Lifestyle section. I'm sure the Sports page people wouldn't have wanted us then. I had to take some pictures of myself and my computer in Warroad and e-mail them to use in the paper. You guys were on the front page and my picture was on the back page of the section. That would have been about October of 2003 because I had already been blogging for over a year at that time.
12. I'd be all on-board with the signing of someone like Myers for a Baker-like deal. I'd always want the option year though, in case he handles the return to starting well. Best case scenario, he pitches great from April through July and they can trade him for a legit prospect at the deadline. by June, I'd like to see Diamond, Hendriks, and Gibson as 3/5 of the rotation. I'd be on board with signing Myers. (and I'll still hold out for Anibal Sanchez because he can be that #1 type guy for the next 5-6 years.
13. Can you imagine the Reds lineup in that small ballpark with a leadoff hitter who gets on 36-37% of the time (Span) AND adding Josh Willingham's right-handed bat between Joey Votto and Jay Bruce?! Not to mention Brandon Phillips.
14. AJ, you blog on here and Baseball America and Moneyning.com... a few more blogs like this and you could do some marriage and parenting blogs too!!
15. I think he will be a rare exception of a guy that the Twins have skip a level. It is very unusual for a hitter in the Twins system.I think that Rene Tosoni is the last player to skip Low A. I'm very curious how the rosters play out there... I wouldn't be at all surprised if Hicks and/or Arcia start 2013 in New Britain and spend a month there. Danny Ortiz could spend another half-season in FT. Myers. Morales needs to be pushed to New Britain where, for some reason, I think he'll become a decent offensive player again, and he is a terrific CF. Ray should move up, but as mentioned, he could play some 1B.
16. Undeclared - Is that the show with Seth Rogen and Jason Segel and Jay Baruchel? I think it only went one year on Fox. I loved it then, and I bought the season on DVD awhile back. Great show!!!
17. Yeah, even if you just want to hear Twins-related content, you can just fast-forward to about 45-48 minutes in.
18. Hochevar has Twins written all over him... kind of the same way that we all just assume that Joe Blanton will be a Twin sometime soon. I don't think either is really a 'bad' thing.
19. Sano is easily 6-4 and 240 pounds and in remarkable shape. Kepler is definitely 6-4 and probably 210 pounds. Regarding Kepler, it was great to see his 2nd season in E-Town go well... but, let's see what happens in the Midwest League.

21. It was about one year ago that John, Nick, Parker and myself started a string of communication around consolidating our sites to create a singular place for our Twins information. It took a lot of time and thought because it isn't as simple as it sounds, especially if you want it to meet certain expectations and goals. There were lots of drawings, and back-of-the-napkin designing by non-design folks. There were House Hunters Wants and Needs lists created to determine what we wanted from the site and the was absolutely necessary. The one absolute necessity in development was to create the forums. As TwinsCentric, one of the top goals was always to build a community of Twins fans and bloggers. We wanted to create a place where people could not only discuss our blog articles, but contribute their own topics into the forum. There is so much Twins news and content and discussion that we can't keep up with it all. If you see a good Twins article you want to link to, or you have had an ongoing debate with your buddy about a certain Twins topic, feel free to post them and let others weigh in. Not everyone is going to agree with your opinions, or my opinions, but we really want a place where we can all at least respect each others opinions and intelligently debate. For the most part, I think we have that here. Yes, the phrase "anyone can start a blog" stands true here at Twins Daily. And, in the psat year, several people have really stepped up and written some well-written, thought-provoking blogs, some of which were promoted to the front page. We definitely encourage others to not only read the Blogs but consider writing your own as well. As we celebrate Thanksgiving today with turkey and hopefully lots of family and friends, I just wanted to take a moment to wish all of the Twins Daily community/family a very Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you, Twins Daily community. We believe that you have helped us, in less than a year, become the premier destination for Twins articles, news and discussion. We hope we've earned that. Twins Daily readers and contributors deserve a ton of our thanks and gratitude today (and every day). You come to our site for the articles, but you stay for the conversation. In thanking you today though, I also want to present a couple of challenges to you today. If you enjoy what you read at Twins Daily, tell your Twins fan friends about this site. E-mail them the link. Hey, take a minute or two to update your facebook status to include the link to Twins Daily. Secondly, if you've been coming here for awhile, but have not participated in the Forums yet, make an effort over the weekend to post a new topic, something that's on your mind, something you think you'd like to have debated. I think you'll see how easy it is, but I also think you'll see how much fun the community aspect of this site can be. And, if you're more brave and ready, spend a little more time and start your Twins Daily blog. I think, with the Winter Meetings coming quickly and rumors all over the place, Twins Daily is the place to go for Twins fans wanting to join in on the conversation. Finally, I want to encourage you to let us know what you like or don't like about Twins Daily. Do you have any ideas that you think we should explore, anything that you think will help us be better? That's important information. We need that. We want that. If you don't want to post it here, please feel free to send me a Personal Message here, or e-mail me at (sethspeaksnet@hotmail.com). Once again, it's fun to think about what Twins Daily has become since we launched the day that Twins pitchers and catchers reported in mid-February. Consider where it has come from a year ago when it was just some guys' random drawings on napkins. For me, it gets me excited to think about where we can get to by spring training, or one year from now, or five years from now. We do know that we are very thankful to have added Brock to the Twins Daily mold because he will help us get there. I don't know where it will go... I do know that the Twins Daily family/community will be a big part of getting us there. So again, Happy Thanksgiving, and a very heartfelt and sincere thank you to all of you!!
