  1. Things looking better for Hicks with Benson being optioned today to AAA. I'm liking it.
  2. Fein and Burton pitched well. I didn't watch Burnett throw. Plouffe and Morneau were on one field and Doumit and Willingham on another. I didn't see any of them get hits, but easily could have missed something. Did see Buxton throw out a runner at home. Other than that, nothing really stood out. I left about the 6th innings or so.
  3. Link it? He told me. Max would move up this year to Ft Myers. TR tells me alot, and has thru the years.
  4. Right, the Twins left a few behind today. Mauer and Pelfrey drove up to Sarasota so Joe could catch him. Willingham, Plouffe, Morneau and Doumit stayed behind and played in minor league games. Fein started one game and Burton another. I didn't catch all of their at bats since they were on two different fields, but didn't see anyone get a hit. Willingham did walk once that I saw, and Justin grounded out to 1st twice. Fein and Burton pitched well.
  5. With TK hitting groundballs to about a dozen pitchers this morning in the usual drills, Deduno created the biggest stir. He fielded, threw to 2nd, on to 1st, double play. He let out a yell and jumped with his arms out, just like the photo in the WBC. The players and all the fans got a huge laugh out of that! TK hit 2 more grounders and stopped. He said something like; Ok, still laughing, good one Sammy. You disrupted my rythum. It was funny!
  6. Buxton cut down a runner tagging from 3rd at the plate today with a good acurate throw on the fly. It's only one throw each, but it was alot stronger arm than I saw Wil Myers show yesterday.
  7. I stated my source, TR. As far as putting him on the dl, I don't know why they do that if it's only going to be a few days. Buxton made a nice throw from center today, on the fly to get the runner at home plate. Runner was tagging from 3rd on a fly.
  8. Max went on the DL yesterday, but nothng to worry about, just a sore arm. He said he'd be fine in a few days. If you want to see him in CR go early, as he's expected to jump up according to TR.
  9. It's hard to believe Plouffe is on the list. I'll guess 3 more make it.
  10. It might be a tiny sample size this year, but I really enjoyed watching him pitch last year. And I tuned out so many games early last season after a few innings because it was a waste to watch. I wouldn't mind seeing him make the roster.
  11. Plouffe survived yet another day today with the AAA team, playing 3rd base. He'll also be in the far fields tommorrow and then join the Twins friday for the game against the Yankees. Twins won the game 10-0
  12. Perkins likes to throw heat, heat, and more higher heat. He wants to k everyone. I'll bet he finds other ways to do that this year.
  13. Without question, Harmon. It's too bad the younger posters couldn't see him play. Kirby is a few steps behind, but I understand the younger one's choice there. If one takes into mind the off field character of these two, Harmon would be miles ahead of Kirby, as would some other players. I've seen Kirby make many peoples day thru the years, and the most somber day at spring training was the day he was, and did die. But he had another side too.
  14. I've never seen box scores from these games. Today Plouffe will play in a game at 1pm. There's also a game with Stout in which one Gardy will manage and another Gardy will be watching from the sidelines. Plouffe hit 3rd in the first four innings and grounded out 3 times and hit a broken bat flare to left that was trapped and dropped for a single. He looked picked off 2nd by the catcher, but the ball sailed into center. Wilkins followed with a 2 run single for the only runs of the game as of when I left. Z Jones was throwing heat, hitting 94-95 on the gun and had a fairly easy couple of innings.
  15. I really think he'll get up there this summer. Ya just can't help but hope so. He's one of the hardest working guys down here. Everyday he's been here, after most have left, he's in the cage swinging the bat. Us straglers have noticed that, and he's probably done that for a long time. It's a fun deal for everyone.
  16. I mentioned to Colabello this morning I was surpised to see him cut, and it must be to get him more at bats. He just said "Ah, that's alright, as long as I get to play baseball". He should make it to Minnesota sometime this summer, and maybe sooner than later.
  17. There are games everyday. Today at noon it's Rochester vs New Britain on Field 2, and Ft Myers vs Cedar Rapids on Field 3.
  18. I haven't got a way to do that here. But it's all messed up now anyway. As more get cut, guys move down, and it changes almost daily.
  19. There's games at home every day. The rosters and schedule are on the outside wall of the minor leage office. Just take one.
  20. Last night Dozier looked so much faster on his throws than last season. He was getting rid of the ball in a hurry. And the throws were accurate enough for the lanky Morneau to get them. If that's going to be the norm for him he'll be much better than last year.
  21. It's good he's going down, he's really not ready yet for the bigs. Might as well let these other guys get slapped around, and we've got better options than Gibson now anyway. Hendriks, Deduno and DeVries are better, and heck Alex Myer might even be better right now. If Gibson can get hitters out at AAA, give him a chance, but I'd bet his first month there won't be anything to crow about either. And he'll probably be with a couple I just mentioned, so when the time comes, we'll see who's brought up first.
  22. His locker is empty this morning, so he's probably made the long walk to the minors. He didn't look very good last night. I'll bet he didn't walk alone this morning either the way some looked.
  23. Parmalee made a great play on that ball. It was hit high and deep, and he ran back, right on track of the ball, got to the fence and leaped. His glove and about half his forearm were over the fence when he snagged it.
  24. The Twins were a k machine tonight. Not much to get excited about but Parmalee's leap, and Dozier's great plays, and watching Mastro take bases. A nice comeback finally, and then, as stated, implosion. At least the fireworks after were nice.
