What is there a midseason free agency now? or are we going to acquire such a good player we are going to need an extra 20 million just to pay his salary for half a season? or are we just going to offer up moralas and 20 million for for king felix? please explain how we need to save 20 million for mid season trades?

speaking of light years, what have they done for us this year??????? We acquired a pitcher on the D.L twice last year, a flop at AA and a single A pitcher....its not like we picked up a Cole , Bauer ,taillon or Bundy....i hope all 3 turn into the best starting rotation in baseball history ,but dont be surprised if it falls to the wayside ....

personally i think Marcum at 1 year for 4 million is less risky then Correia at 2 years for 10 million

31 teams, did a couple of teams from japan pass on him also?

163 games? kewl we get to see Blackburn pitch another decent game ,and maybe get a long term contractagain...

Pssst dont be a Bogart , pass it =)

i totally agree we need some breaks, Verlander,Miggy fielder, konerko Peavey ,Shields all to break there leggs , then we have a shot.. But probally not a good shot

Dont mean we have to like it or accept it ....kind of like asking who remembers the flood of 69 or 2011....most remember , but those who do remember dont want it to happen again...=)

Come April 1st, i will keep the makings of a crow sandwich handy, i happy last year to admitt that lil Ben was better then i thought... Im always happy to be wrong about twins players i think are worthless....With that in mind , im hoping to be wrong about Correia, Butrea,Robertson, florimon and Blackburn this year
  10. johnnydakota
    why?
  11. johnnydakota
    Liam , this years diamond....
  12. johnnydakota
I havent looked at cedeno,or johnsons stats, but im guessing they hit better then the .220 florimon did...

so the saved money is for a midseason trade? as in we will have to acquire a player who is paid so much we will need an extra 20 million to pay half his salary, or we are going to throw in an extra 20 mil. plus a prospect?
  14. johnnydakota
So resign him through 2017? =)

My question is why didnt we acquire 1 or 2 quality free agents , and then trade them come july, adding to our prospects? As well i question not taking Lara with a 2nd pick in the rule 5 draft. It would be nice to have a 98mph lefty avalible coming out of the pen , rather then Robertsons 5.40 ERA
  16. johnnydakota
With 20 plus million still avalible ,why not make a run at Diaz? If we acquire a shortstop , and have added 1 mlb pitcher and 2 prospects, I would concider this off season an improvement over last years...
  17. johnnydakota
So your ok with Correia on a 2 year deal , but not Marcum on a 1 year deal?
  18. johnnydakota
I think as we sit the off season is not going well, but if we were to add a young shortstop , a player for the future ,then this off season suddenly becomes one of if not the best for Terry Ryans career.Yes even better then when he traded A.J. Go Diaz

Me thinks you are the most responsible for keeping this thread alive
  20. johnnydakota
So is the new Vikings stadium going to cause our kicker to lose a few feet on his kicks?
  21. johnnydakota
still wet concrete doesnt relect the heat ,dried concrete causing riasing heat to help carry the ball?
  22. johnnydakota
ok so what else is there to talk about if not the players ? You want positive discussion , make positive acquitions...
  23. johnnydakota
So doing things the RIGHT way is not a life lesson you would want to teach your children?

We know at least 12 pitchers and maybe 13 pitchers break camp with the twins, so you would rather have Drew sitting on the bench, instead of an extra o.f. or middle infielder? To me and im dumber then a box of rocks, there is no way Butrea over his career is way better then Joe over his career....last year Joe struggled some , but so did the other 2. With Joe wanting 125 games behind the plate ( im guessing 90/95) there is no reason doum,it can not handle the rest, and if we do at some point have these 2 banged up some , then fine bring him up for a few weeks. But to waste a bench spot or even a 40 man roster spot for Drew is just bad management ...
