  1. I'm used to your posts being much longer than this. I really like your post I'm just confused by the brevity.... Or did I miss something?
  2. I do think the game is starting to pass Reusse by. Remember, this is the same brilliant baseball mind that basically declared this team a contender in the spring. He's also repeatedly blamed Sano for everything he can stretch to pin on him. I'm waiting for him to blame Mauer's latest injury on Sano even.
  3. Kind of? Either way, Assange and this last leak certainly weren't right-wing driven.
  4. As much as I hate that parts of the Hillary crowd complain every time there is criticism sent their way, i will say this: The leaks that come out are almost always terrible for Clinton. It's really lopsided. And the weird part is that it isn't the right doing it, it's more disgruntled independents/leftists. Which I just find bizarre given the alternative.
  5. If Molitor helped captain a team that overachieved in wins and losses last year, is that not a factor in dismissing him? I feel like a Molitor apologist with how many of you want an effigy burned every other day, but this is the same coach that helped us out-win our performance by a decent margin last year. For many of you, the wins and losses are a bottom line, so why is that so quickly dismissed? The organization's fundamentals have been on the downhill for a long time now. It was a criticism of Gardy the last year he was here too. Perhaps Molitor is being swallowed by the much larger issues he has no control over. Just a thought. If he's retained I find it defensible. If he's fired i find that defensible as well.
  6. If the last week is any indication they'll tell us how cool and calm and ready she is before she spontaneously combusts on the stage.
  7. I predict people will call this start "pretty damn good" based on the last one being called fantastic. Seriously, there is a good chance this guy is out of baseball in 3 years. If not by shoulder injuries, but plain ineffectiveness.
  8. If he's going to pitch like that...i'd rather not see him pitch.
  9. Three pages and no mention of Saul! That's another one I eagerly await returning.
  10. Plus, we live in the golden age of television. There are some truly great stories being told, too many for me to even keep up with it seems.
  11. Let's hope he actually returns to the rotation. This whole situation has been horribly mismanaged.
  12. I have no doubt about the second part. But doesn't mismanagement of a candidate take all of a few minutes to be a problem, much less an hour and a half? Hell, I'm waiting for the day Trump gives a speech with some dude in a suit standing behind him with a tazer. Every slip is an opportunity for your opponent. Her team just flung the doors of opportunity wide open for Trump on something obvious and stupid. Personally, I hope it goes away. I suspect it won't.
  13. Luke Cage and Westworld are atop my list. Eagerly awaiting Legion, Fargo, Game of Thrones, and American Gods coming out later. Gotham went so far off the rails I gave up last season. I wanted, so badly, to like that show. Walking Dead won't get my audience until some Sunday afternoon replay. That show needs to figure out it's bad trolling crap before I'll tune in again in their primetime slot.
  14. There may be other credibility concerns to worry about in regards to that tactic as well. Because, as I remember it, all we had to do was wait until these kids came up and we'd have to fight off the victory parades with a stick by this time.
  15. It only becomes an ongoing issue when the answers are elusive. It's also a major issue if your campaign team bungles something so simple as to blow it up into a firestorm. I mean, she got a cold and her team managed to handle that with such "skill" that it became a massive issue. You know why that's a problem for me? Will this kind of bungling nonsense continue to the point that they actually find a way to lose this thing? I don't know if she has actual health issues to be worried about. I am 95% sure she doesn't. The other 5% of me that wonders is solely the responsibility of her team's mismanagement of a simple issue. It wouldn't be ongoing or having reasonable people wondering aloud but for a total misfire by her campaign.
  16. And yet he's leaving Berrios in the rotation. And he's playing Sano at third. Granted, not as much as I'd like, but he's doing it. So his big picture doesn't seem to line up much with yours.
  17. So, your boy that was grand marshaling the parade didn't have things quite so correct after all huh? I say that because you're criticizing Paul's view of the big picture when you yourself had it wildly incorrect not but two seasons ago. I'm not going to judge Sano's ability to field based on a handful of starts scattered over what amounts to 3-4 seasons (thanks to his injury). I'd like to let the kid play and develop. Same with Berrios. You might do well to learn that patience with young players is important.
  18. First, what the opposition makes a big deal about is almost always ridiculous or overstated. That's a given. Second, any rampant speculation was caused by the campaigns elusive unwillingness to just take a minor issue head on rather than letting it snow ball. They let it snow ball because they badly miscalculated things.
  19. And if he collapses while attending an event I doubt it'll be "back page" news.
  20. I too didn't like his answers on Sabermetrics. He seems to be caught in the false dilemma others are about having to either do your instincts or trust numbers. I have no problem with a manager who does both. What I want him to acknowledge is the value math has in taking emotion out of the situation most of the time. I don't expect him to be a robot, but he seems to think it's either/or. That was a troubling response.
  21. It's the human part of managing. I get his thoughts on it and empathize with his reasoning, but I disagree with his conclusion also. You need to catch Murphy every day and play Sano at third every day. You have to dismiss the feelings of the other players who disagree and do what's right in the big picture. But I do understand why he feels torn.
  22. My takeaways: * Paul clearly is frustrated as hell with his pitching staff * He indicates his involvement with personnel and roster decisions was very limited * He's definitely frustrated about the readiness of his young players All things I think he has every right to be frustrated about.
  23. Kudos to Dozier and Bruno for finding and fixing the issue.
  24. Trading and getting a good return is hard. It's also what we're hiring and paying our new GM to do successfully. I don't care about failed moves by other teams, I care about my team making the right moves for the right people. And heavily shopping Dozier is the right move.
  25. George Bush STILL gets mocked for that!!!! Seriously, this paragraph demonstrates that you've lost perspective on this issue. I was a kid and I remember the ridicule he got for that. I even knew what the Simpsons were referring to when they joked he'd "ruin them like a Japanese banquet" She passed out at a 15 year anniversary of 9/11 function and was carried to her car. Then there was silence about her status for an hour and a half. If that happening to the leading Presidential candidate isn't news....what the hell is?
