    Why does everyone assume improvement? Haven't we seen time after time that lots of players regress? While Dozier was statistically average last season, he could very well go the way of Plouffe. Pinto could very well go the way of Parmelee. Swarzak very easily could go the way of Tony Fiore. Some are likely to regress, some will probably improve. Everyone also seems to assume better health for Mauer. I will believe it when I see it. He is not exactly the model for endurance. People also seem to assume his statistics will automatically get better by moving to first base. I don't think that's a given by any means. He's now on the wrong side of 30, much like Willingham, Suzuki, and Kubel if he makes the team. Suzuki could be a Mike Lamb signing. That's a lot of "coulds" and "maybes". Hopefully we see some measurable improvement out of more guys than not but it's not unthinkable that we a lot of guys could regress.

    Follow-up question: Is this season going to be the bottoming out of the Twins? Honestly, I don't know. I can about guarantee that Buxton and Sano won't start with the big league club in 2015. They'll probably use TJS as an excuse to keep Sano down in AAA until September at least.

    It could easily happen. Will Nolasco and Hughes be enough to overcome how awful our offense surely will be? Honestly, outside of hoping/praying that Arcia develops there is not a whole lot to get excited about with this team. I don't care if we lose 120 games. We absolutely need to run Hicks out there every day. We need Pinto to get 400-450 PA. We need Gibson to be in the rotation all season long. This won't happen which I find great fault with. Presley, Kubel, Bartlett, etc should not be given a roster spot as they serve no purpose on a rebuilding team. Things could be very ugly this season.

    With Mauer's injury history I can't imagine him making it through one scrimmage at Florida State, let alone a decade in the NFL.

    I just get annoyed every time he mentions Kris Johnson or Ryan mentions Eric Fryer. Also annoys me at their Deduno resistance. I don't understand why they seem to prefer guys who go maybe one or two outs deeper into a game on occasion but give up one or two more runs than Deduno. He and Albers were the only two Twins starters to average six innings per start last season.

    I would prefer not to... but if you insist. It consisted of a series of "Ooohs", "Aaaahs", and "Wow!"s that could have easily been mistaken for something else.

    No one likes to lose, but some people continue on with their lives if they do while it eats away at others and forces them to do something differently to make sure it doesn't happen again.

    External emotion and fire is a lot more likely to be contagious than someone who internalizes it. The thing I have noticed is someone who is a lightning rod (such as Sano, AJ, etc) forces his teammates to raise their intensity and a close knit team will band together and have each other's back. You don't need to be an ******* but I don't think it's a bad thing either.

    This is Gardy's reaction to Hicks flipping the ball into the infield! Notice the score and notice that no one is on base so this type of over-reaction to a player playing with supposed "flair" is ridiculous. I also remember Gardy freaking out about Hermann not having his batting gloves on when he called on him to pinch hit. Hermann hit the game winning single but all Gardy could talk about was him not being ready. Clearly he was ready. He won the game.

    My question is whether Gardy will bat Suzuki third or not since well, you know, he's the catcher now and that's where catchers bat.

    I'll believe it when I see it. If Gardy doesn't have a problem with an attitude then Ryan certainly does. They have done everything to either ship off "attitudes" or quell them. Gardy is the one that freaked out about Hicks flipping the ball into the infield last year without first removing the ball from his glove. Gardy is the one that chastised Livan for wearing "Bling bling". Of course it's utterly ridiculous to have an attitude when you give up 11 hits/9 and strike out 4.5. My favorite Twins team is the 2001-02 team that had AJ, Doug, Ortiz, Hunter, Guardado, Romero, Hawkins. This is half the reason why the news on Sano is so disappointing. I was hoping to see him incite a few riots this season after a slow homerun trot.

    JFC. I swear they do this just to piss me off. I'd rather have Sano winging it up there with a torn UCL than Saunders.
