    They might figure out a way to give it to Pagano/Arians, but it's a weird situation where the coach wasn't there most of the year. I could see it, but can you really credit a coach who was in a hospital?

    I would imagine it would go to whoever actually wins their division between Shanahan and Carroll. If neither takes it, probably one of the top two seeds in each conference.

    After seeing the impact of the rule change in 2011, getting rid of Longwell should have been a pretty easy and clear decision. They definitely should get credit for finding the right guy though. Brilliant choice.

    Guys who can't stay healthy are not that valuable. Even when Harvin plays, he seemingly has to sit out half the game with one ailment or another. What are the odds Harvin is ever available if the Vikings are ever in the midst of a deep playoff run?

    Baker also had a second injury, I don't know how or if that impacted his rehab.

    Adaptation does not occur without a stimulus. This is simply a stall tactic. If we wait until the undefined tragedy wake is over for this, there will be another one that we'll have to wait for.

    I'd imagine they were planning on using him as a short yardage specialist, not as a backup quarterback. The media basically makes that plan unbearable and likely impossible, since no quarterback good enough to make it so unbelievable to gin up a quarterback controversy needs help in those situations. ESPN & friends are foaming at the mouth at the prospect of Tebow playing again. It is shameful, but totally expected.

    Reading the article, Ryan's quotes don't necessarily jive with the narrative the writer is going for. He basically said that he's not a strikeout pitcher and that he shouldn't have trouble adjusting to the new league.

    Call me crazy, but I have a hard time considering a guy with a .343 OBP as "great" at getting on base. I don't expect three OPSs over ..800 this season. Tough to win with that.
