  1. They didn't play well in Chicago. Nothing really stood out in Toronto other than winning the series. Home stand was underwhelming. Record on paper not bad but it should have been much easier than it was against Chicago.
  2. Bad News. Greg failed his drug test. http://images.mentalfloss.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/bb5.png
  3. This series concerned me and it's not only after falling down 7-3.
  4. Do you ever have an opinion that you want to share but don't want to open Pandora's box? It's not current club related but related to this weekend.
  5. Sweepstakes is being generous. He's more like winning a gold fish at a school carnival.
  6. I was going to come on here and mention how much I love how Mauer pops up after sliding in safe at a base. This is is better.
  7. Just one strikeout this afternoon. Something positive long term or simply he can't strikeout in every at bat?
  8. ST doesn't matter but Buxton had a strong finish last year.It looks like he forgot how to hit over the off-season.
  9. This what happens when you don't have Herrera, Davis and Holland for the final three innings.
  10. Is there any chance with a better '17 and contract down to two years that Mauer would wave his no trade clause?
  11. Unfortunately Mauer is becoming very predictable.
  12. .244/.301/.444/.745 17 HR 33 2B 9 3B. 24 SB 10 CS Improvement across the board but not a superstar just yet.
  13. Hot April. Horrible May Bad June Better July Worse August Bad September.
  14. 1) Jeff Bagwell 2) Tim Raines 3) Edgar Martinez 4) Mike Mussina 5) Curt Schilling 6) Vlad Guerrero 7) Ivan Rodriguez 8) Trevor Hoffman 9) Roger Clemens 10) Barry Bonds Numbers don't mean anything other than Clemens and Bonds being my last two choices.
  15. My favorite part of the off-season. With more ballots coming in it's looking less like a sure thing for Pudge. His percentage is dropping and you still have the group ballots and private ballots and neither is usually beneficial to a candidate. Vlad is at 75.4% and being a first year guy it's hard to guess about the private voters. I'd air on the side of pessimism and he just missed this year. Trevor Hoffman was one of the exceptions and did better with the private votes. He's currently at 73,1%. If his public numbers stay the same and the private percentage is similar to last year than he'd get in.
  16. Does this mean McLeod would take the job even if the Cubs don't win the World Series?
  17. My guess would be the Twins President of Baseball Operations would be similar in title to Epstein with the Cubs and Friedman with the Dodgers.
  18. It's a deserving demotion to Rochester. Sometimes performance or lack thereof is reason enough Player development is a problem but it's not like most of the other young hitters haven't shown something in the major leagues. I have doubts about a few ever being great long term players but at least it's something.
  19. Looks like a solid return but not honestly not expecting all that much. Rare for teams to give up top young talent and less so if the return if a utility infielder having a career season.
  20. I'll throw out the R word after his contract ends in 2018.
  21. Playing well is fun even if it's a lost season.
  22. My tv is on extra innings so each game is in a small box. I glance up and see a huge fight, I immediately rush to turn on 668 before realizing it was video of the Blue Jays and Rangers fight from earlier this year.
  23. The reality of the situation might be that Arcia being an effective hitter wasn't going to happen here. To me that's more telling of an organizational problem than the idea the Twins didn't fail at getting the best out of Arcia.
  24. Baltimore or Toronto seem like ideal spots. They have home run hitting lineups with home run hitting philosophies and Arcia can be used to the best of his talents. Say 25-30 home run potential hitting 6th in the lineup.
  25. My personal preference when playing the what if game is keeping the distance to about ten picks after the Twins real selection.
