  2. Game over. Twins win! 6-4 Oliveros gets the Save
  3. Salvador Perez just tore his meniscus. He will have surgery but not sure if he is going to be back this season. Blow for the Royals.
  4. First appearance this ST. Had leg issues. Played for the Padres & Rockies a bit. Wild thing. Thing Jim Hoey lite
  5. That stolen base, was totally on Gray. He throw one at the RH batter's box that Rivera had to reach to get.
  6. Good appearance yes, but he still has options. I think that at this point Burton and Maloney are ahead of him and Waldrop, Wise, Fien and Gutierrez pretty close to him. Still a long Spring. They just need to start cutting so these guys can pitch more to have separation
  7. no ruled a hitbut it should had been an error.
  8. Burroughs boots another one...
  9. Parmelee's ball hit the back fench of the stands. Almost left the ballpark
  10. That last run the ball got in an out of Burroughs' glove. Not much solid D from his so far this Spring. Marquis is continuously pitching pretty bad.
  11. Don't let me start on this, because it is a major pet peeve of mine It is not about the records, it is about the history and the HOFers as well. And it was clear that with the move the Twins took their history with them (and the new Senators who then became the Rangers, just the name). Just incredible to have a founding franchise in the AL and ignore that, and the 3 WS appearances including one title. I still think that Walter Johnson should have a statue outside Target Field and the Twins' HOF should expand by about 10-15 people... (no retired numbers, they did not have numbers back then)
  12. That may be the case in Minnesota, but in the Philies will be broadcasting the game both on TV and radio (and will be on MLB.TV)
  13. Radke got into the Twins' HOF in 2009 so he is in. His jersey will not be retired though.. and here is another number: 189: Kaat's wins as a Twin (not including the one as a senator). His jersey should be retired before Radke's (and Hrbek's IMHO) but it isn't Most of that stuff is political
  14. They waited until the last year to retire Blyleven's jersey... No way Radke's jersey is retired. Kaat's jersey should be retired way before Radke's
  15. As long as he stays healthy, I think that Casilla will have a break-through season. He is really playing with a chip on his shoulder. I suspect that he was not that happy about the length of the negotiations prior to arbitration, so that might be an extra incentive to him...
  16. Cabrera (with the caveat that due to awful D will be DH before June - so doesn't really count) Valencia Moustakas Indians' tandem Morel
  17. A few issues with that, including the current and near future pitching pipeline...
  18. Not very strange... Lots of players wearing Twins' HOF members' numbers. Should the Twins tell Mauer to give up number 7 because Greg Gagne wore it once?
  19. To make that clear: Vargas did not take PEDs or steroids. He tested positive for Phenteramine, which is related to Ephedrin/Psudephedrine (the last one is Sudafed) and it is used for weight loss purposes as well as for "getting wired out" purposes. Ephedrin is also known as "greenies" in baseball cycles. That stuff used to be on the shelves of supermarkets and drug stores as diet pills, until people started dropping dead with heart attacks. Unrelated. I think that the last Twin who tested positive for 'rhoids, is good ol' Juannie
  20. Re-assigned to their MiLB camp
  21. Seth Kaplan tweeted that they tested positive for "banned substance". I assume then PEDs --- Edit MLB.com has the story up and says: Pitcher Yeison Florentino tested positive for metabolites of Nandrolone. Pitcher Ezequiel Zarzuela tested positive for metabolites of Stanozolol.
  22. Yeison Florentino and Ezequiel Zarzuela failed drug tests and suspended 50 games each. Both in the Dominican. Not word on whether street drugs or PEDs
  23. What Seth said (and a good example for #3 for the Twins is Eddie Rosario,) and: 4) Injuries. If you are a Catcher and suffer a couple of knee injuries early in your pro career, you will not be a catcher any longer if you can swing the bat or pitch
