  1. I'm not trading Ober, Ryan, Lopez. They do need those parts to win games. What we need most is a line up boost that opens up at bats a and fastball for more guys. A right handed guy that fouls off pitches, works counts and drives pitches into the gaps and doesn't just pull the ball. That guy used to be Correa, now C4 seems to just rely on his defense as a contributor. It's still elite defense but we could use him hitting balls to the gaps again. You would think he would want a ring and ride with his guys. Right now he doesn't even look like a shadow or shell of that guy. Kicker is, he works hard and it is in there. Buck os streakey but when he is on one he is a lot of fun to watch. We need a healthy confident Royce Lewis back also. Could use another professional hitter to DH too. Not sure the source on that.
  2. If Rocco doesn't have a say in his line-ups or team or control then why is he even the manager. The GM's job is to aquire, scout and bring in talent, then trust his people to develop the talent. Not set line-up , make starting or bullpen pitching decisions or hame day calls. Advance scouts analytics and coaches help, but the manager has final say. I'm hoping at some point Rocco starts pushing the right buttons. I mean they hit the ball a lot harder than a last place team. At some point the dribbles and line drives should turn the Twins way some. At least statistically and modeling you would think so. I mean they are not without talent. Maybe we should wear the M caps more? Something needs to change, a stinky rally sausage, a holy striped tube sock, some sage. Something will break the current curse. Baseball is a game of doing the details and little stuff right. If Rocco doesn't turn it and pull the right strings he will not be here next year.
  3. I like Julien in the leadoff spot. He can make good contact and work counts in that spot.
  4. This to me is the perfect spot for Griffen Jax in the 7th or 8th inning with nobody on. Middle of the order. Often time this is the spot that is just as pivotal as closing. I like his change to and sweeper in this spot. If we could find one more guy like him then the bullpen does set up nice. Sands, seems that he is starting to fit into this spot. I want Duran finishing the 9th.
  5. That was a fantastic grab by Bader. Seeious wheels.
  6. DH spot would much rather have Miranda as the choice than Gasper. I view Gasper as a minor league only player. He is 29 and isn't gonna develop any further. He isnt gonna hit. If your losing I would move on from Castro and Gasper and try to develop younger guys. Floundering or not Miranda could develop. I would rather see him do that in MLB than AAA.
  7. I get activating Lee. But why demote Miranda and keep Mickey Gasper. Miranda had a blunder today, but Gasper check swings with runners in scoring position to tie and win Fridays game and wrnt 0 for 4 ss the DH. Struggling or not if you had between picking between the guy who has power at DH and the 5 ft 8 guy who blew a play at 1st base and a key out against the Royals. I'm nit spending anymore money on the Twins with a no talent AAA guy Gasper on the roster DH'ing. Why continue waste at cat's on a 29 year old never was player even if they are a back-up 27th roster no count. No wonder the Twins are an S show they are rostering a AAA guy that would not make another MLB roster. Rocco sure likes to make guys like Miranda a whipping boy but his pets can do no harm.
  8. Too slow of foot, and slow to react with their swings. Seem's pitch recognition has left the building. Nobody seems to be doing anything to get better or care. Team acts like they have given up and are not even having fun coming to work or hardly trying. The fans really dislike Pohlad ownership and will not spend any money to support the team because of it. The Pohlad family needs to sell the team and move on. Doing that would be a huge relief.
  9. Last place in offense. This is a trend that started during the collapse last year. I saw Buxton watch pitches he crushed last year. Nobody is hardly hitting. Hard to win many games when your barely scoring 2 runs a game. We tried firing the hitting coach, what is next? At least now, It's clear Rocco isn't getting the team to respond. Leadership is lacking on this roster. I don't know what a good answer is but it is not fun seeing the team you cheer for going the motions.
  10. Not sure what is going to make this what seems likecs rudderless ship get better. I mean who is the QB that will lead the charge out of the abyss. You see talent, you see potential and what should be a better baseball team. What is happening now is not entertaining or fun. There are rally's, effort and will at times to do things well. For whatever reason things are not clicking. Then you see gaffes, miscues, poor at bats, poor fielding with what doesn't seem like a plan and you wonder what is the core of the problem? Is it a lack of a vision a lack of a plan of what Twins baseball is? I mean we're not a part of it we're just fans on the outside looking on but we all see this, that something is wrong. I don't enjoy ripping the team, the manager or even making rude comments.. is Twins baseball really just this listless and bad? Teams gotta like each other in sports and actually know each other even the professionals. Not just a bunch of mercanary"s and hired guns. Not looking for heros or idols, just entertainment. Baseball is suppose to be a kids game and be fun even in a money business that pays the bills. Being at the ballpark is supposed to be fun, not a chore or a burden or feel like a weight and a heavy lift. People that like baseball should want to come watch in person or on TV. I mean two years ago the ride was fun as heck ss a fan. Now it's like a dark cloud. The ownership situation and uncertainty is looming. Baseball is the boy's of summer, the smell of hot dogs and a good cold beer or soda, good music, take me out to the ball game and thecitement of a home run or a key strikeout. Seasons are long, but without fun and some winning and without fans, Baseball becomes stale like old popcorn, an empty movie theater and a day old dry hot dog bun. Clearly fans are speaking with their wallets. I don't know what the spark is, and what will lift the malaise of the dirty socks smell is, but something has to change for the Minnesota Twins. This was a proud franchise that has lost it's fun, and brand. I mean the owners tried to kill it off, that and make it go away. It was a judge and the fans and hungry players that brought it back to life. You guys all remember the no name kids and the guy you couldn't say or spell his name. Not sure but they found something. They have had relative recent success and division titles. Now we have boring baseball. And what feels like a time to tune out. It's gonna be a long decade if change and renewal doesn't come around for the Twins. What we have right now., this is not the way. Time to step away and look for the fun in watching again.
  11. You have that right. They brought value to the game and fantastic defense. Gasper isn't the reason we're seeing Twins losing, but it is a symptom. Alcala stunk it up no way to sugarcoat getting no outs even on a tough luck hit.
  12. The game of baseball finds when your a black hole and don't belong. Indictment of Rocco.
  13. Today was actually a nice day. Tonight is actually not even cold.
  14. This! Rocco's pet. The third catcher stuff is utter nonsense. Worse than having a Punto or Hocking. At least those guy's could pick it and had speed. You know brought actual value to the game. Hocking and Punto didn't bring much offense, but they were really good defensive players.
  15. Watch the Twins DFA Alcala and he get's fixed somewhere else. Alway's happens that way with the Twins. I know he is broken right now. Someone will eventually figure out how and what role to use Alcala in. He has the talent for this game.
  16. The players as a collective right now stink. Time to unload the apathy., and find guy's who give a sh!t.
  17. I disagree, Gardenhire isn't making squadoosh managing the Saints. It wouldn't take much to any money to promote everyone up a level as interim managers. Let the kid prove himself. Can't be any worse than what Rocco is doing. Team is for sale. New owners will want there own people. Could always have assistant GM run and dump Falvey too with a mandate to dump all big salary's. Fan's are not buying many tickets anyways.
  18. Gasper is not a major league baseball player. He may pose as one and wear the uniform. Wasted at bats on a fringe player at best.
  19. Time to blow this thing up. They are losing many games anyways. Rocco isn't making a difference either way. Bring in the Saints and unload as many Veterans as you can. This Twins team is cooked. People are not gonna buy tix either way as Pohlads have eroded fan loyalty and apathy surrounds all of this.
  20. Lack of a long term media deal both TV and radio makes for unsure revenue sources. Twins ownership the Pohlads have the original investment in the team on the books as debt as well as the stadium debt which was there portion so they have both debts for tax reasons financed on the P&L. From the looks of it they have the debt to buy the radio station they sold at a loss, the Victory broadcasting deal on the books as a loss for depreciation of assets. They also have the commercial real estate the Twins offices for the building nearby on the books. All of that is a big portion of the debt and financing. I'm sure part of that is negotiable. MLB having an uncertain labor contract and the Twins slow attendance do not help. The Pohlad ownership plays a role in the deteriorating attendance, that and the recent crappy weather in the spring.
  21. Any sale of team is gonna be for a lot of money, over a billion for sure. This could mean possibly payrolls like what the Marlins and Ray's have. This could actually backfire on Twins fans.
  22. Twins fans have never asked for ownership to break the bank on payroll. Just keep the team competitive, daft well and provide an entertaining baseball product. No fan has ever said spend like the Dodgers, Yankees or Mets and Giants. Ocassionally contend for a championship maybe once a decade or within 20 years of previous title. Have good front office and scouts.
  23. Twins television will be produced and distributed by MLB.
  24. Not necessarily, but he Festa looks like he could have Closer to top level reliever stuff. I think he could be dominate in that type of role.
  25. Festa seems like a classic bullpen candidate. Gets tired after 3 or 4 innings, teams start to hit him second or third time through the order. He has enough stuff if refined, that to me he could become a dominate reliever.
