  1. Well i feel better now that players whom weren't in the apartment aren't getting punished. Still, I don't like how everything went down. Seems backwards they had to prove their innocence, but I guess that could be changed with an executive order.
  2. New wr commit from Kansas looks really good...... I mean, really good.
  3. It's the right decision for the twins. Don't trade dozier because you think you have to. It would have been nice to get some value, but there is still a chance something happens and the offer is better. No sweat. Hopefully he his another 40 next year!
  4. I'm ok with over the top. Sometimes that is what it takes to succeed (maybe even more true here). I think he knows talent and buying in are the key at this level, so he already has an advantage there. I'm most interested too see if green and jr. are coming back. The offense at wmu would be perfect for green and Rodney Smith. Mix in the pro set with Brooks and the running game looks great already.
  5. 5 flipped recruits according to the kfan board. 3 star receiver, qb, olb and 2 2 star d line. Not bad. I don't like the throwing motion of the qb, but he has athleticism and a strong arm. If Green is allowed to play and Winfield comes back this team won't be too bad.
  6. Levi that is not a fair stereotype. But that kid of enthusiasm and fire really do resonate with athletes. Shoot, even I the sales world there exists people like that. Thing is, those people get paid all kinds of money too. It doesn't make sense to me. I'm not an emotional person though, so that kind of rah rah doesn't do it for me. I know it does for some though. In fact, I'd bet it does it for more than you'd think. Look at where Clemson has come as a program with a guy like fleck. They weren't a powerhouse before, but for 5 years now have been an elite program. That's still possible here. Don't know where I'm going with this.... Feels like I'm defending the guy. What's happening?
  7. Listened to the presser.... man this guy is different. I think I'm different now.. You know what? I feel like my shoulder is cracked too. Or I just smoked a crack pipe? Everything aside, he says the right things on how to build a program. I'd love for him to accomplish everything he believes he can. I just hope his chili is already hot, and doesn't expect it to heat up once he gets here. Curious to see what happens to players and recruits now. Does he pick more up? Do players like Tyler Moore leave?
  8. We'll see what he can do. I really hope he can bring toughness and tenacity that is required to win in this conference. The biggest thing to me is recruiting. If he can bring in some players that ndsu has been getting, combined with a little more national reach he should do well. I'm not sure how involved he is with schemes, but if he is able to identify the right people, that is all that really matters. I did read an article stating he is pretty knowledgeable about offense, which makes sense considering how good his team was this year. I can't wait for the sound bites to start.
  9. Less Miles might be a decent fit. The style of his lsu teams fit with Minnesota. His main problem was being in the sec with Alabama and auburn. That conference has been tough the last ten years. I really don't like pj fleck. He seems like Brewster 2.0 to me.
  10. So now that Hennepin county had reviewed the case, and still declines to press charges.... and only 6 of the players are actually believed to be involved... does everyone still believe the university is justified in how this has been handled? Again, this is far from over.
  11. Not in Twitter. I'm disappointed in this poll. First, you should have a "hell no" option. Second, you should have a "rally monkey" option. I'd have difficulty choosing between the two (usually default to rally monkey for everything).
  12. The never ending 2 point conversion attempt. And, another targeting. Come on man. No reason to leave your feet there.
  13. Defense has held up much better than I expected. Offense is still terrible. Probably doesn't help having Tyler Moore out. Brooks finally looks healthy. It's going to be depressing watching the qb position if green doesn't get to play right away.
  14. It isn't the tribunals which are the problem. It is what they are deciding which is important. Expel them for the things you know they did. If the violations do not fit with expelling, then don't expel. The issue is when we're letting these tribunals make decisions based on acts they find criminal. That is should be beyond their scope and they should rely on the courts.
  15. That is fine when it comes to things less serious. I don't think anyone would like it had it been a murder charge which wasn't brought to court yet the university still suspended players for murder. I think that should be the distinction here, criminal vs uncriminal. The issue is due process, which is fundamental to our country. I'm amazed people are sifting it under the rug so easily. Brooks, I would feel much better about the situation had the university not labeled these kids sexual perpetrators. Instead, they could have cited a number of code of conduct violations (like levi said) and disciplined within reason. If they chose the same punishments, I still have issue with the individuals which were not directly involved. And again, the university should walk a fine line here because they do not have the power to decide sexual assault.
  16. The point about the war on drugs is that no matter how much you enforce, people will continue to do them. I don't think sexual assault is the same crime, but punishment alone isn't going to stop it. I guess I'm not as willing to abandon my ideal of justice for the sake of punishment add others. This isn't taking a stand against sexual assault. Want to do that? Initiate programs to help avoid it. Pitt I place systems which make it more difficult for these things to happen. Create awareness and propose athletes take a mandatory seminar on it if you feel singling them out is important. Being the judge and jury to label these kids with sexual assault is terrible. I also disagree they could have been expelled for lewd behavior. Punished sure, but within reason. I don't see how Tracy survives this.
  17. Levi, i agree 100% with your stance. I haven't been able to post much, but I am not on board with how this incident is being handled. This rhetoric of punishment for prevention is coming from the same people that oppose the war on drugs. I find the example about murder precisely what this is about. I believe the law will be on my side when this gets sorted out.
  18. I don't think we would know about it otherwise. I think it would still be a topic of conversation, at least in this forum.
  19. Proof beyond a doubt is really missing the point. You are still focused on if the sexual assault happened, and not on the process of decision making the university used. If she had a civil case, she should have filed it. You keep bringing that up but fail to account for the charges being dropped or civil case being pursued. This is not satisfactory for due process any way you look at it.
  20. Just would like to point out this discussion is why I love this forum. We can talk about things like this in an open and respectful manner. Great insight Ben. I do have one comment about your posts. To me, any prior history with this woman is irrelevant. All we should be basing our opinion on is the facts of the case and how it was handled by the university. I believe the university is wrong, simply based on the things I've read so far. I do think this could get messy.
  21. Sorry I wasn't clear. I'm questioning the decision by the university right now. This issue seemed to be over. The details surrounding the incident notwithstanding, a few athletes were disciplined and we all moved on with our lives. I believe this is the university overcompansating.
  22. I'm not debating that about the university. However, there is a big difference between being found not guilty and not having charges pressed. Cases get filed without having a case sewn up is my point. Unfortunate situation no matter what at this point. Amazing how little moments change the course of our lives.
  23. I'm not willing to accept that as easily as you based on what we know. I think rape and allegations surrounding it are serious and still require a burden of proof to be established. I'm sorry, I believe a case would have been filed if there was even a chance these guys were guilty, at least i hope it would. Besides that, players on the team already served a punishment earlier in the season. The definitive players involved. This is double jeopardy for these guys, and it's not fair.
  24. I remain to believe in innocent until proven guilty. Does anyone actually believe a university organization has more credibility with these matters than the police? I haven't seen the video, the police have. They determined no foul play. If you really want to play the card that it doesn't mean there was no rape, you are already assuming it happened. This decision by the university has made it into the national spotlight, and if the players sue... and win... They are going to look real bad. This program is a joke.
  25. There is a video tape with no evidence of rape. Are you comfortable with the school telling players how they can have sex? I'm not. Where does it stop? What if it was gay sex omg? I don't care if a woman decides to have sex with the entire team, it's not my choice. The university didn't have to make this a big deal. Again, we most likely don't have all the details.
