  1. Brief smile spotted from Berrios. His night MUST be done.
  2. But Santana and Berrios's ERAs are in the ones. So...
  3. This better not become some kind of Cleveland rally squirrel or whatever.
  4. Totally called it. Edit: I kid, in case that wasn't clear.
  5. Little shaky in the third, but overall one run in four innings. Only 64 pitches. He's got some stuff.
  6. Polanco just got smacked in the face. That probably hurt a lot.
  7. Who says you have to hit it out of the infield to rack up those crooked numbers?
  8. Nice. Also, does anyone blame me for immediately assuming that that was snark?
  9. That was one hell of a pitch to end that inning. I mean damn, that's the kind of stuff the rotation has been missing all these years (apologies to Santana).
  10. If he buys a ticket in the bleachers. Also, did I miss a Grossman misplay? I just showed up.
  11. Silver lining. Buxton just turned a home run into a triple.
  12. Damn. Beat me to it. In my defense, I had to wait on watching the last three innings of the game.
  13. Wow, he must be pretty smart... ...oh.
  14. You may have just answered your own question.
  15. Wow. Wriggled out of that jam. That was a nailbiter of an inning.
  16. I am a little surprised that it's the bottom of the fifth. I feel like maybe I misread the start time of this game. (Well, that's actually obvious in hindsight.) But I just finished work anyway, and we're up by a run. So it's not a bad spot to be in.
  17. I don't understand that but it sounds smart.
  18. I actually don't particularly care about experience when it comes to these guys. Building up a reasonable sample size in AAA so that you could scout Nick Burdi's stat line would require leaving him down far longer than I hope the front office would contemplate. The results are there in a small sample, the heat is there, the scouting is there - he's just been derailed by injuries. Remember there were people who said when Burdi was drafted that he could be in the majors that same year. It's time to see what he can do in the big leagues and to show the same kind of patience we showed Buxton.
