    I'm sure that's more or less instinctual, but pitchers gotta keep their throwing hand out of the way. How would you practice that though, to overcome the natural inclination to reach out and catch a ball hit toward you?

    I agree. I focused on sellers, but who the hell are the buyers? Knowing that you - as the best team in the league - have a 35-40% chance of losing 2 games in the very first of the 19 rounds of playoffs they now have, why bother trading? With expanded playoffs, it's a race to mediocrity. The "winner" is whoever gets streaky at exactly the right time. If that overlaps with the best team, it'll be totally accidental.

    Maybe. But when 40 out of 30 teams make the playoffs, is there going to be that much of a trade market? The only teams definitely selling are the teams that definitely have no one.
