  1. I definitely did a double-take when I saw that. Tyler Watson sounds intriguing. Anyone got a full writeup?
  2. And Alex Perez pinch runs for the tying run in the bottom of the ninth, then goes on to pitch the 19th and 20th. Wacky day for him, huh?
  3. I'm pretty much just down to baseball too, though I watch my college team's football games. I don't fanatically follow though. That was a conscious decision. As much as I might find it easier to talk to my wife's friends' husbands if I know all about the Vikings, and basketball (gross), and whatever else they spend their days on, I'm just not into it, and my time is valuable. I just can't seem to quit the Twins though. Then again, how could I make myself feel superior for my loyalty to a bad team through thick and thin if I gave up on them now?
  4. Actually they just kind of flipped the script. Belisle and Rogers both out of character tonight. Same result, different order.
  5. I'm sorry, but what the hell is happening with the bullpen? Who are these guys?
  6. Just who exactly is this "Buddy Boshers" fellow and what has he done with Buddy Boshers?
  7. Maybe useful to some here: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/22455-huascar-ynoa-2016/ A little refresher course, though it's from last season.
  8. I was intrigued by Ynoa, but as others have said, you have to get to give. I acknowledge that Ynoa is very much a lottery ticket, so as much as I'd like to see him succeed, he's so far away you gotta think this probably doesn't come back to bite you.
  9. Polanco alone for Neshek would be a massive overpay and worthy of the crucifixion we'd give the deal on this site.
  10. I'm going to address your comparison quickly. You are using Mitch Garver, a four-year college player, drafted in the ninth round only he saved the team money given his lack of leverage, to JR Murphy, a high-school draftee paid more than $1 million in the second round and widely considered the better prospect until the last year or so, as your proof of how the Twins operate. That's not apples to oranges, that apples to battleships. It's not a great comparison, imo. Would you apply to same logic to Jorge Polanco, whom the Twins brought up at age 20 or 21 versus Brian Dozier, who had to wait until he was over the hill at 25 to get his first taste? Which player has done better for it? It just doesn't seem to fit your narrative.
  11. I looked it up, and yes I was wrong about the relative rankings of the league. Sorry for that. Then again, your overgeneralization to claim that each player moves in lockstep is still a valid criticism.
  12. I assume you're referring to something like the New York-Penn League when you say that the Twins don't have an affiliation? I think that that's considered "Rookie Advanced." That is, it's below the level of Elizabethton, which is Class A Short Season. If you're going to argue about the Twins not being aggressive enough because they put their college picks at Elizabethton by saying that instead they "should start in the short-season A league," then I think you're off base, both about where they put their prospects and what level that league is at. I also think it's an overgeneralization to claim that each player moves in lockstep. That's just demonstrably false.
  13. I have read that the balls are technically built to the exact same specs, but that they're built in different factories in different countries. That's enough to make a noticeable difference.
  14. Yes, I am suggesting that. The worse the White Sox are for longer the better the world will be.
  15. This is also an issue I have. http://cdn5.thr.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/scale_crop_768_433/2014/09/too_good_for_grumpy_cat.jpg
  16. I'm currently in Mexico. Should I look around a bit?
