    I thought about this for a bit, but I think that knowing your team would win would take away all the fun. I prefer the non-Faustian system we've got now, even if it means waiting a lot longer.

    I find the ABW fanboys on this site irritating, as I'm sure most do, but it is true that he produces and has done at every stop. That gets pointed out several times per thread. Even if the thread is about other players. That said, it's also true that he has glaring flaws in his game. There's a reason he's polarizing. (And it's not just because his parents post here several times a day, with random words in bold, about how awesome he is.) He swings and misses a lot. He swings at bad pitches a lot. But somehow he still has pretty good numbers. I'm about as in-the-middle on him as you can get. I think you go slow with him. Probably nothing more than a single level a year. I think if he makes it and has an opportunity to get consistent at bats, he could do good things in the MLB. I also think that he may never figure out off speed pitches and get killed by crafty pitchers as early as AAA. But I do think it's nice that he's produced well so far, and I hope sincerely that he will continue to do so.

    Now that we're talking about $40 million per year contracts for 10+ years, I think we've blown past the "timeline" conversation, and we've definitely blown past the "realistic" conversation.

    I was kidding, but your point is well taken. If we hadn't just dropped 6 games out of first in the division before the calendar has even turned once, it'd be a lot easier to claw back into playoff contention.

    You're never completely out of it. You can always use the month of May to play spoiler within your division. And June. And July and August and September.

    I really think my feed is several minutes behind live. Not too surprising, Istanbul is not exactly known for its infrastructure. Of course, this means that I get lots and lots of mini-spoilers every time I read something on this thread. This would be a problem if this season's Twins were big on the whole drama thing.

    I really want to believe that this is the case, but honestly I expected it to already be happening. If we aren't flushing out mediocre veterans in favor of high upside prospects by mid year, I'll be highly disappointed.

    I think this is an interesting question too, for recovery aids like growth hormone, taken out of competition, like when on the DL. But testosterone or anabolic steroids are just a bridge too far.
